THE DETAILS
Need to stretch your legs? Zionab Vacation Home is conveniently located across from a grassy, tree filled city park which offers the perfect place for travelers to stretch after being cramped in a car all day. Take a leisurely stroll around the 1/2 mile track, enjoy a heart pumping game of soccer, throw some Frisbee or fly a kite - all using the equipment available in Zionab's toy box.

Prefer relaxing? Then you can enjoy the views of contrasting crimson red and verdant green scenery while you do some grilling on the back patio or watch an amazing sunset from the front porch while sipping your favorite cold beverage. Later, you can gather around the outdoor fire pit (wood supplied) for some fireside stories and marshmallow roasting.

When it comes to mealtime, Zionab's roomy kitchen is well stocked for cooking up your family's favorites. Besides the stove/oven combo and microwave, there is a large and small crock pot; an electric griddle for pancakes and such; a food processor for quick prep; a blender for all your frozen favorites; and a dishwasher for quick clean up. There's also a water filter system for your drinking water; a coffee pot; french press; and an electric water pot for tea. As for cooking essentials, Zionab provides a more than adequate supply of pots, pans, lids and bowls to prepare most dishes; along with a nice array of spices and staples like flour, sugars, oils and condiments. Plus, your hosts, George and April, are right next door and are happy to share any ingredients or conveniences they may have on hand. More about the hosts later.

For evening entertainment beyond the TV, you will find a variety of games and puzzles, true old west cowboy apparel and gear for dress up photo fun and a quick craft box. When you are ready to be low key, the HUGE flat screen TV is there. Zionab provides Roku streaming along with Disney, Prime, a variety of DVD's, an HDMI cable connection for entertainment streamed from your device through the fast 1GBps fiber optic WIFI or get a Red Box Rental located at the grocery stores. We have a bookshelf filled with an array of books and magazines including hiking guides, cowboy and pioneer books and lots of activity books like seek and find, crossword, suduko etc.

When you are ready to soothe those tired muscles, enjoy a hot soaking bath in the Master Suite's garden tub with complimentary bath salts. The 50 gallon, quick recovery water heater will ensure everyone has hot water to bathe before bed. Speaking of bed, the romantically decorated Master Suite features a stately king sized poster bed with a luxuriously plush pillow top mattress piled high with pillows and made up with invitingly soft, clean sheets. Cellular shades and black-out curtains make sleeping-in so inviting. The Master bedroom is decorated in a romantic shabby chic decor that is full of soft, inviting textures to make you feel oh so pampered. Enjoy the cozy, mood setting electric fireplace as you wind down from your adventure filled day in the beautiful Southwest Utah.

The second bedroom is all horses and cowboys with denim and cowhide. It is aptly named the Cowboy Room. The semi-firm, queen size Serta pillow-top mattress is piled high with cozy bedding and tons of pillows. The headboard is crafted of Juniper wood made from a tree that shaded a livestock shipping corral in it's former life. Blackout curtains and cellular shades close the world out to let you dream peacefully. A comfortable spotted cowhide chair seconds as a quiet reading nook for an assortment of magazines. The Cowboy room features double closets and is adjacent to the roomy guest bathroom which features a tub/shower combo.

The third bedroom is a bit prickly. Just kidding, it's the Cactus Room featuring artwork of desert landscapes. It has two firmer standard twin size beds which will comfortably accommodate adults as well as children. Optionally, the beds can be joined with straps and a plush mattress topper to make a King size bed.

The fourth sleeping option is a futon couch that converts to a double bed located in the office area off to the side of the living room and kitchen. This sunny spot is perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or an afternoon nap. The office area includes a desk that is outfitted with a charging station, phone for local calls and our insider's guide to Kanab and the surrounding area. The west facing dining room seats eight and provides gorgeous views of the red rocks and lush green surroundings. A separate breakfast bar has seating for three. Outdoors, the picnic table seats six and there is a bistro table on the patio that seats two. If you prefer to dine out, downtown Kanab is just 2 miles away and offers several chef inspired venues along with familiar fast food dining choices.

Zionab has central air conditioning and heat, ceiling fans in every room, and an extra large washer and dryer for guest's convenience.

Kanab itself is becoming a destination place with many enjoyable activities within a 20 mile radius of the city. New lighted basketball and tennis courts have recently been installed by the city as well as a skateboard and pump track, also lighted. The Kanab City pool is great fun with slides and splash pad. Three new hiking/equestrian trails have recently been installed as has a 17 mile mountain bike trail. Jackson Flat Reservoir is an awesome spot to fish off shore or via canoes/kayaks. The Reservoir is encircled by a 3+ mile paved walking/bike path. There are several fun festivals in Kanab that bring in a variety of fun and excitement throughout the year. Not to mention all the amazing programs that Best Friends Animal Sanctuary offers.
