My partner and I have been fortunate to stay at Alberta Nest several times during visits to Portland, and it consistently exceeds our expectations. This cozy guest house is a true find in the heart of the vibrant Alberta Arts District. The location could not be better. For those eager to explore the unique charm of the Alberta neighborhood, this is the ideal home base. You're just a short stroll away from some of Portland's most charming cafes, bars, galleries, and food trucks. And if you're keen on exploring beyond Alberta, the rest of Portland is easily accessible from here. The guest house itself is the perfect blend of comfort and style. The high ceilings and skylights make the space feel open and airy. A favorite feature is the private garden sitting area. It's a perfect little oasis for enjoying your morning coffee (supplies provided) or an afternoon glass of wine (picked up from a local shop). During our most recent stay, Portland experienced another heatwave, temperatures soaring above 90 degrees. I have to give a special shout-out to the excellent air conditioning—it was an absolute lifesaver after walking around the Last Thursday street party for a few hours. The hosts, Lorell and Jason, have put a lot of thought into making guests comfortable. The kitchen is well-equipped, the bed is cozy, and the amenities are top-notch. You might even walk away with a few ideas! We are already looking forward to returning.

Wonderfully well-organized and well-stocked studio loft in a charming neighborhood in SE Hawthorne section of Portland. This property truly puts the "luxe" into loft space; the owners have created an open, bright, cozy and private loft over the detached garage on the property and furnished it with an eye toward meeting and exceeding travelers' anticipated needs. Drawers and cabinets are clearly labeled (in an eye-pleasing font) and fully stocked; space-saving ideas (such as storing exercise mats, bands and weights in the ottoman) and the abundance of windows and a skylight (all with remote control shades to achieve desired ambience and privacy) give the loft an airy feel. Towels and linens are fluffy and comfortable and the mattress is outstanding. Views of towering trees and the ridge of Mt. Tabor add to the atmosphere of an oasis in the city. The loft has a private entrance in the detached garage, allowing guests to easily get to the great coffee shops, bakery, market, shops and restaurants that are within 3-6 block walk. The hosts are friendly, informative and responsive to issues or questions (e.g., my struggle with streaming a program was quickly solved). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the "Luxe Loft" and would unquestionably recommend it to travelers looking for a well-appointed base from which to explore and experience the City of Roses. We hope to return ourselves for an encore stay!

With great hosts and a wonderful view, there is a reason why you will leave Happy Valley, Oregon happy. Leading up to our trip, Adrienne kept the lines of communication open between us to make sure we were all squared once we arrive. She was so thoughtful as well by providing us with some potential activities we could do in the greater Portland area. The drive through the neighborhood was gorgeous, scenic, and easy to navigate through. Earlier Adrienne had sent us easy to follow instructions (with pictures as a bonus) but upon our arrival we were greeted with a cheerful smile and handy dandy notes for extra amenities like a fan for white noise and a high powered flashlight for those critters that go bump in the night. As soon as you walk in through the space you can tell that great care and effort has gone into ensuring the space is impeccably clean and tastefully decorated so it's like your home away from home. The kitchen is fully equipped with new/ like-new appliances, cookware, and utensils. The living room is furnished with a comfy couch, soft and shaggy throw rug, a cozy fireplace and tv - Perfect for cuddling and winding down after the day's adventures. The sliding doors lead to a full length covered porch that looks out to Mt Talbert which we highly recommend for a peaceful quick morning hike to start off your day. The bedroom is the epitome of comfort and relaxation with a queen size bed and cloud-like pillows, duvet and bed sheets. The bathroom is up to date and spacious with aromatic shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The highlight of our stay was all the wonderful home baked goods and fruit left thoughtfully at our door step every morning. We can definitely say we left Happy Valley with the much needed good vibes and feels for our trip back home. Thank you Adrienne and Mike for going above and beyond extraordinary host duties!

We originally were supposed to be a party of 3, but our friends decided to join us last minute. The home had plenty of space to accommodate all of us (4 adults and 2 12 year old boys) with room left over. The neighborhood is adorable, with lots of kids playing around (be mindful of speed), and felt very safe. Nighttime was peaceful without being disturbed by traffic because the home is set back from a major street, yet it’s still very close to amenities (groceries, gas, restaurants). Kitchen was well stocked with amenities and extras for mornings before skiing and meal prep afterwards. We found the foosball table to provide A LOT of entertainment in the evening for the group which made for some fun times. There’s also an air hockey table in the loft which was fun as well. Bathrooms were quite nice with good water pressure in both showers (something we find VERY important). Lastly, the beds were great. They were comfortable, the linens were soft, and warm, and there were enough pillows. I have stayed at other rentals that have failed miserably in this category, so I’m always one to comment on bed quality. This home hit the mark, which is a huge bonus when you’re exhausted after a long day at Bachelor! Would recommend to anyone this rental. We were abundantly happy with our visit!

Maria's guest house is everything you would expect on a vacation! I want to begin by saying that during these days where cleanliness is important to keep each other safe during the pandemic, Maria takes every precaution to ensure her guests safety! I must say that when a host cares for your health as much as Maria, that provides a peace of mind that is priceless. The guest house itself is gorgeous (and that's an understatement). It's decor, furniture, and utilities are nothing less than class; it makes you feel at home immediately. A few things that stood out: Cable TV with Smart TV options, a Study to do your work with great WIFI, an immaculate bathroom, a kitchen with every cooking utensils you would need, a bedroom with the most comfortable bed and bathrobes for him and her, wooden floors, plenty of light to make your days wonderful, and convenient washer and dryer. Outside of your private door, leads to a backyard that is nothing short of tranquil. The location is in one of Oregon's nicest neighborhoods! Filled with all the conveniences nearby, from grocery stores, department stores, parks, trails to hike, lakes, restaurants, and to an easy 15 minutes to downtown Portland. Maria and her husband Philippe are two very caring hosts, who go out of their way to provide privacy, safety, and answer questions on the best places to go for those of us new to the area. I had a truly magical time at Maria's place, I hope you enjoy it just as much.

We found this home really wonderful! We arrived super late at the townhome, but it was still easy to find and enter. (Be aware the address is on the wooden posts, not the alpha-numeric code on the glass - I think that is for resort purposes). The home was a great size for us (a family of 4) and the kids loved using the foosball table in the garage and the sleds provided on the sled hill 1 min walk to the right out the front door. The heated garage was really nice and made for super easy loading and unloading. We never had to deal with a cold car that the kids didn't want to get into. The main reason for our visit was skiing and the location was as good as it gets in the area. You can walk to the town for restaurants or the general store. You have to drive everywhere else, but that is the nature of the Mt Hood ski area. The house was really clean. I actually don't think I've ever stayed in a vacation rental so clean before. The dishes were clean and everything felt good to use - nothing was yucky. You'd have to be mobile since there are 2 flights of stairs in the house. Our 6 yr old actually broke his leg while skiing at Meadows and after that, it was tough getting him up and down the stairs. Not an issue at all for 2 legged walking people, but an issue for anybody with mobility issues. Finally, Peter was really kind. He said we can call him if we need help even at 1am. That was really thoughtful, considering we were arriving so late.

The Seagull house is a comfy place with fantastic views. It’s just at the cliff over Hwy 101, with no view of the road but great views of the beach, rocks, and out to the horizon. Great place for storm watching – we were there in December, with fast moving storms that kicked up the waves and dumped Oregon coast rain on us. A short car ride or stroll gets you to the beach. There is a path down to the highway but it was blocked by standing water – however we were able to walk down the road and cross over to access the beach. Long walk for kids, but nice enough for grown ups who want to take a stroll. The area is a combination of all year residents and vacation homes. The deck has a wonderful view and the secluded hot tub is positioned where you can look right out to the beach. You’re not ON the beach – remember you’re the other side of Hwy 101. But the elevation makes it really work – you cannot see the road. The house itself is spacious, two California King beds, two full baths, two sitting areas, good internet, TVs have Roku. The kitchen was well stocked – good gear. They had the coffee maker, grinder, and hot water kettle for our coffee and tea drinkers. We were prepped well by the owners, who reached out by email, provided lots of tips about what to do or see or where to eat in the area. There were copies of menus for local places. Directions and instructions were clear. The owners live away from the area but a neighbor was there to keep an eye on things just in case of any problems. If you’re picky about pristine, modern furnishing, this might not be your place. If you’re looking for a comfortable, home-style feel, this is hard to beat.

If your looking for a Relaxing retreat this is the place . This bnb is extremely clean and quiet . One of our favorite things was waking up in the morning drinking our coffee and watching the squirrels and birds eat through all the spacious windows before we head out on our day. I would highly recommend this bnb if your looking for a Portland / Seattle trip . Everything is very close and accessible . Gillian was a wonderful host , and really made sure we had a wonderful time . She would message us checking in , if we needed anything or had any questions. ( not a lot of places care enough to inquire ) . Provided in the bnb , a kitchen with all the necessities , plenty of towels , heaters permitting you need them and she has a couple books of attractions for Portland. We took a couple ideas from it . Honestly I would say this was the best bnb I have ever stayed at. I would give 10 stars if I could . If you are considering booking this place , do it before it is gone. Would definitely book again
