Hawaii vacation rentals

The home was perfect! I am a travel agent and have done my fair share of touring resorts and looking for an upside and/or downside to resort vacationing. With that said, we did drive by the house twice since we didn't see the house number from the road and it has a shared driveway entrance with the house next door. BUT once we got there, it exceeded my expectations. First and foremost it was very clean and well stocked of necessities for any beach activity including beach towels, water shoes, beach chairs and snorkel gear to name a few. The house is well positioned for a short walk to any of the 3 beaches. The bedrooms were very spacious with comfortable beds (except the twins.....they might have waterproof mattress pads since it appears to be a kids room) and flat screen TV's in all. The kitchen had all the necessities for cooking/dining but THE VIEW from the living area!!!! My gosh! It is grand! The pool was well maintained and we used it often. I cannot say enough about the house and the owner. My emails and questions were answered promptly and my security deposited refunded back to me as I sat on my flight home. I highly recommend this property. My family (all adults at this point) had an amazing visit to Kauai while staying at The Bird of Paradise Home and we are looking forward to a return trip. The added bonus is the house concierge and house manager. The concierge pre booked our tours and did my grocery shopping prior to our arrival. Yes, there is a fee attached to the shopping but considering I didn't want to arrive after a long flight , pick up the car rental, drive 30 minutes to unpack our luggage and then go back to Safeway to do my hour worth of grocery shopping. This was vacation and I wanted to start it as soon as my feet it the ground. The house manager came our first night and gave us some valuable touring information that we utilized the very next day. You can't go wrong with this property.

My family of 7 saw this property and the reviews online and quickly booked it for our 2 week adventure on the Big Island this August 2016 - we were thoroughly pleased! I cannot say enough about the home (clean, quality, spacious and all the things you want in a home while on vacation with family and friends - including an amazing sunset each and every day!) ......and the Big Island, which words cannot really describe so I will try in a few sentences. Having a home like this puts you at the centre of what the island has to offer in our view (note - this island is BIG so you will have to be ready to drive to see things - OR - just relax at home with the amazing views). In one hour you are on the most amazing beach (like Beach 69 and Kua Bay) or in 25 minutes you are at TWO STEP Beach snorkeling with amazing coral, fish and a few dolphins if you are lucky (note, many pay for boats to take you here but from the house, just drive it!). Also, in 2 hours, you can be at Volcano Park (stop at the bakery at the southern most point for amazing treats on your way https://www.bakeshophawaii.com/) for one of the most amazing sites you will see. A hour drive East from there (so yes, a long day on the road 3 hours out and 3 hours back) is the Kapoho Tide Pools (http://www.to-hawaii.com/big-island/beaches/kapohotidepools.php) which are amazing (try to get into the gated community to get to the secluded Champagne Ponds). Remember to also check out Mauna Kea (https://www.ifa.hawaii.edu/mko/) where you can truly be above the clouds for sunset or sunrise with the most incredible stars you will see up close (including the Milky Way with your own eyes). I could go on but will stop - if you are looking for a great home on an incredible island, don't hesitate, just book it!

I picked out this condo to rent for my husband and my trip to Maui June 10 - 17th of this year. I wanted a condo that had a wonderful ocean view, easy beach access and a nice pool. The photos looked great that I saw on this website and the owner had great feedback so we contact him and booked the week long stay. I cannot tell you how fantastic this place is! It is litterally as nice as the photos make it appear. This is a great, small complex in a great location in the Kihei area. The complex has easy parking on-site, a very friendly front-desk staff, an on-site Activities desk to book tours through and a wonderful pool and hot tub. In addition the complex has gas grills you can use in the garden area which we did one night which was great. Now onto the condo itself. The owners take pride in their place and it shows. The 2 bedroom/2 bathroom unit is very spacious and has every single thing you could think you may need. There are all of your basic ammentities but then there are also a set of 6 beach towels, many snorkel gear sets, guide books, blender in the kitchen (one of many gadgets), boogie boards, noodles, etc. for swimming fun. There is even a set of bionoculars that I used to watch my husband kitesurf! In addition it is in impecible condition and super clean upon arrival. Within one week of returning to the US the owner mailed us back our deposit with a nice thank you note. Overall the reviews were spot on and this is a great place to stay and what makes it even better is that you are working with an owner who cares about his condo and wants to make this an easy booking/paying/returning deposit transaction. My husband and I are already looking at our calendars to return next summer! Don't hesitate - stay here - you will have a wonderful vacation!

Our family stayed for 2 weeks Oct 13-27th and our only complaint was.... it just wasn't long enough ! When we arrived we entered through the jurassic like courtyard into the main living area of the home and we were instantly struck by the incedible views ( inside and out) . Its true, as noted in previous comments that the photos just don't do this property justice . Gorgeous is an understatement ! It was meticulous inside and out and everything you could possibly want was right at your finger tips. We were also a 2 min drive to plenty of shopping to get whatever else we needed. We never got tired of the early morning sunrises or the amazing evening sunsets.They were breathtaking to say the least. We loved to hear the massive cruise ships pulling in and out , and see the lights glistening off the water in the evening as they passed right in front of us. My sons favourite memory will be his "late" night (7pm) swims before bedtime in the infinity pool. Our party consisted of 6 adults and my 3yr old son and we never once felt crowded or cramped for space. The home has a magical way of bringing everyone close together yet it was so spacious and open, that eveyone had room to stretch out and feel at home . There were always ample places to go for quiet relaxing time to nap, read a book or just stare out at the ocean crashing against the rocks. We had many great dinners BBQ'ing fresh seafood and steak on the outdoor grill. Or cooking with the top of the line appliances in the chefs "dream" kitchen . We even carved a pumpkin and had it on the lanai for a fun evening ambiance ! I would highly recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a "First Class" home in Hawaii . Sheree has been a fabulous host ! She was always just a phone call or email away for any questions or concerns we had before ,during and after our stay :) Mahalo Sheree !! We will be back ... next time for 3 weeks ;)

Well documented in other reviews but the views from this condo are simply stunning – I’d note that they are also unique to other locations. The Mahana benefits from literally being on top of the ocean (vs. set back like nearly all others) and this condo is nine floors up. Result is gorgeous views of the islands across the channel, sunsets, beautiful and endless ocean and if you are there right time of year the whales literally dancing in front of you. Almost daily they’d be doing flips etc. its pretty amazing to see. I’d add that the corner unit also provides what I think is a really cool view down the entire beach with trees etc. The boardwalk effectively starts in front of you so you get to see down the whole beach. Condo is very well appointed, furnished etc. Everything you could ever need or ask for. In particular an exceptionally well stocked beach closet (snorkel gear, all types of chairs, etc.) makes beach trips a joy. Beautiful kitchen, incredibly comfortable beds, nice shower. Everything well stocked and ready to roll. There was thought put in to have everything here you might need – was impressive. Kudos and mahalo. Location of the Mahana I would suggest is ideal if you are coming to Kaanapali. It is walking distance to several keys – Times Grocery (best in area), Dukes Restaurant, boardwalk, and the fish market (best Ahi sandwich I have ever had). But importantly (for us anyway) it’s a chill place so not the noise, waits for grill etc. that you may get at other places in this area that have too many rooms compared to resources they offer. I loved that you can get a pool chair easily, never feel like there is mess all around in common areas etc. and just relax in a sweet local. Note the pool is normal sized and not a water park – go next door for that. Net is our experience met and even exceeded the high expectations set from all the reviews. Worth the splurge and hard to imagine that it disappoints.

We spent two weeks at the Maui Garden Oasis with five adults and two children and couldn’t have been happier with our choice. The photos on the website are accurate and I feel they don’t do it justice, the house is beautifully decorated and it had everything we needed. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of dishes, spices, and a great coffee grinder. The garage is filled with beach chairs, umbrellas, toys, games, coolers, towels, snorkels, masks, everything you need for a day at the beach. This house was one of the few that we looked at which had a nice big dining room table for a large group, but we spent almost all of our time in the beautiful backyard, where there is plenty of comfortable seating, a picnic table, hot tub, outdoor shower, fruit trees, a fantastic BBQ, and plenty of shade. The bedrooms had either King or Queen beds that were comfortable with extra pillows and blankets available. Each room had air conditioning that made the warm evenings that much more comfortable. There were TV’s everywhere but we rarely turned them on. There is fast wifi, which, made uploading snorkeling videos to Facebook easy. One thing that sticks out for me is the strong water pressure, which, is essential for blasting a days worth of sand and sunscreen off. Any minor problems we had were met with a very quick response and action. The house is located walking distance to the main road, shopping, playground and restaurants and a short drive to some amazing beaches. The neighbourhood is quiet, except for the wild chickens, and safe. My concern with vacationing with seven people, even though they were family, was that we’d be on top of each other. That was not the case at the Maui Garden Oasis, the home was big enough and with the large outdoor living area we never felt cramped. If we travel to Maui with a group again, I wouldn’t hesitate to book it again.

So incredibly grateful to have found this home in Princeville! My (new) husband and I had an idea a year ago to bring our blended family together for a "family-moon"/week in Paradise and this house was the perfect fit for our large group of 10 plus our (barely) 6 month old grandson! Personally, I'm the kind of person that likes my space/quiet time and this layout was ideal. Our Master Suite had huge picture windows and views that were so peaceful to fall asleep and wake up to. The home is also well appointed with recently installed air conditioning, gourmet kitchen and breathtaking ocean views from the large great room. It was everything my husband and I hoped for on this trip, and more! This home is the ideal setting for a large family or group, with Smart TV's throughout to enjoy Netflix, etc. Large deck is great for dining, and has a barbecue and space to chill and catch some rays. Set in an upscale and quiet neighborhood with paved streets, it's great for walks or running and is close to some good beaches and hiking spots. It's also within walking distance to the St. Regis Resort. Can't say enough good things about this house, and the lovely lady I dealt with during this entire process, owner Tammy Russel-Rice. From beginning to end she was responsive, thoughtful and extremely helpful providing answers to any questions I had. I also was in touch with the property's Island Host during my stay, and she too was was responsive and helpful. Words cannot express how grateful I am that we found this home to make some great family memories in. If you're planning a trip for a large group to Kauai, this is your spot.

We really loved the house and the location. There is a large covered porch in the back and side which protects you from the rain/sun. Our girls loved the outdoor shower and claim it was the best shower they've ever taken! Some of the appliances (washer and dryer) were almost too good for a rental - we used them constantly. The kitchen is where we spent most of our time in the house. It's got everything including a cheese grater with a matching storage container, a melon baller and all the utensils/plates/cups you could ever need. The gas grill worked perfectly too! The beds were very comfortable and we loved the spacious master bath with separate sinks. The location of the home is ideal - within a close proximity to Foodland (make sure to bring your Maika'i card - saved us $37 on our first trip), gas station, shops and restaurants. Also VERY close to Hanalei which ended up being a place we visited almost every day. There's a restaurant there called Chicken in a Barrel - maybe the best smoked chicken I've ever tasted. No trip is complete without a Bubba burger and a shave ice which are across the street. We also did the horseback riding excursion with Princeville Ranch Adventures - only 1/2 mile down the road from the Princeville entrance. Can't recommend this enough. While on the island we also attended the Smith family luau which I recommend. Their smoked pig was outstanding! One last recommendation would be to take a trip with Captain Andy's out of Port Allen (southern tip of the island). Watch out for the sneaky tikis! :) We plan on returning to this home next time we come to Kauai.
