Whether you’re looking for a peaceful place to get away, or an adventure in the mountains, our cape is the perfect stay! It’s a 2/2 plus a den with a full size futon, and a queen pullout couch in the living room. The backyard also offers room for camping by the brook, plus a fire pit. Located in the NEK of Vermont, minutes away from New Hampshire, and 3 miles from the CT River. Direct VAST snowmobile access. For a virtual tour: (Website hidden by Airbnb)
& (Website hidden by Airbnb)The cape was built in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) as a camp, and transitioned into a home. It is located almost halfway down a plowed 8 mile dirt road, but only a 10 minutes from a state road, the Connecticut river, 15 minutes away from Lancaster, New Hampshire, with gas stations, a grocery store, restaurants, coffee shops, a bakery, medical center, mechanics, and more. Less than 30 minutes from Whitefield and Santa’s village!
We offer 2 fire pits, one that’s safe to use on the deck and the other by the brook.
WINTER TIME: Front wheel drive OR 4WD recommended. Snow tires/tire chains are recommended in heavy snow conditions, but not needed to get to our place. Our driveway gets plowed regularly for cars to drive in and out. We have shovels accessible just in case the snow builds up at the entrance. Shoe spikes are available for lending. The cape’s main heat source is oil, which gets refilled once a month.
There are vast snowmobile trails off our road with direct access to the property. Before booking to ride the snowmobile trails, please check the most up to date trail conditions for
Essex county, Vermont, and if you plan to ride into NH, check trails into Coos county. Please ride responsibly.
SUMMER TIME: This is a common New England home that has no Air-conditioning; however, there are fans throughout the house for when it gets warm.
Due to the natural elements surrounding the cape and the location, you might see a variety of insects, rodents and wildlife year round. The cape offers a unique experience that truly defines a mountain/forest getaway.

Getting around
We recommend turning left out of the Cape when leaving the property to take the shortest route to VT-102, which will connect you to the neighboring towns of Vermont and New Hampshire. The great thing about getting around is that the cape makes you feel like you are very remote, yet you can still get around by car any time of the year, with towns nearby.

Notes
This is our family’s home-away-from-home, but we’re happy to share it with others while we’re not living in it. Please use it with care & respect.
The garage is not available for guest use, unless in an emergency. Please contact the host if needed.
The downstairs bunk bed room doesn’t have a door, but there’s a curtain for privacy. Next to the
bunk bed room is the den which has a futon, there’s no door for this room either, but we have provided a foldable room divider for privacy.
For stays longer than 1 week, we only provide a starter pack of the basics such as toilet paper, paper towels, coffee, detergent etc. there’s a couple stores within 15 minutes where you can purchase more for your stay.
WILDLIFE: Please DO NOT feed the black bears if you see one. Don’t leave trash outside. In the distance, you might hear others hunting or target
practicing. It’s nothing to worry about.
Please do not use steps to bridge in the backyard during winter.
WIFI: we offer free WiFi through a satellite dish. Streaming movies is on the slower end, so casting Shows/movies from your cell phone to our smart TVs might be better. The satellite dish is sensitive to weather, so it may not work while it’s raining. There are some DVDs available to use for the living room DVD player. As well as games, books, and puzzles.
The kitchen: despite the cape’s small kitchen, it is equipped with many basic cooking and baking necessities, such as a toaster oven, regular toaster, crockpot, milk warmer/frother, tea kettle, coffee maker, blender, wine glasses, plenty of pots and pans, serving trays, pancake, waffle mini griddles etc
