In the summer months, the water activities are endless but the activities do not end in summer. The cottage is so very beautiful throughout fall with the mountains displaying their majestic colors all around. In addition to spring, summer and fall, winter is equally as beautiful with the wood burning fireplaces and Christmas decorations abound.

For the fun filled days on Lake James, your family and friends can enjoy the lake kayaking, paddle boarding, tubing, water skiing, wakeboarding, boating, fishing, swimming, mountain biking, or hiking on the surrounding trails eventually returning for an evening of relaxation either on the wrap around porch or around any of stone fireplaces playing checkers or watching movies.

The cottage is newly constructed with beautiful materials, high-end furniture and decorations throughout offering a lodge feel. The structure is of bark siding, cedar shakes, stone columns, nine foot front door, 8 foot doors throughout, 22 foot ceilings with exposed beams, three wood burning fireplaces with 200 hundred year old mantels, and Heartwood pine floors. The authentic design of this cottage combines luxury amenities with natural materials and rustic accents that bring the outside in creating a unique experience that make you never want to leave.

On the main level the beautiful gourmet kitchen offers granite countertops, high-end Thermador appliances, a cook’s island and counter bar with bar stools for four. There is also a gas grill located directly through French doors on the covered porch for grilling. The large dining room table is just steps away from the kitchen and family room for gatherings so that each person may enjoy the discussions of everyone around. The family room, dining, and kitchen have exposed beams with floor to ceiling windows offering views of the lake. Also on main level is a beautiful master suite with a California king bed and French doors that open onto a small porch allowing lake views and wildlife. The evening in the master suite can be continued by soaking in a hot bath in the elegant freestanding tub and then warming up with the stone gas fireplace in the bedroom.

Located downstairs there is another family area with 10 foot ceilings, 8 foot doors, a cozy stone fireplace and sitting area to play games, watch movies or just relax while viewing the lake from the French doors that provide additional sitting areas outside. There are also two beautiful master suites with two master baths that provide lake views. One bedroom offers a king and the other offers a queen. Additionally located downstairs is a wet bar area with a small refrigerator for nighttime snacks, chilled drinks, or water and a washer and dryer closet to wash any items as needed.





The cottage offers many outside areas to have fun or relax. For those fun lakeside activities, enjoy the dock located down the steps that offers 3 kayaks, 1 paddleboard, and swim platform where you can just enjoy the cool water or fish. There are pontoon boats available for rent or you may bring your own boat. After the day of many fun activities, an evening of relaxation can be on the beautiful vaulted porch while burning a fire in the stone fireplace with cozy seating all around, or on the cozy porch that wraps around to the front where the rustic rocking chairs are located. As you rock viewing Dobson’s Knob, you may see deer, bunnies, birds, turkeys, and other wildlife.

For the days you fill adventurous, you will find attractions such as Biltmore Estate (Christmas is absolutely beautiful as well as spring), whitewater rafting, zip lining, Chimney Rock, Short-off Mountain, Table Rock Mountain, the Appalachians, Pisgah National Forest, Linville Gorge, Mt. Mitchell, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Mountain, Boone, Blowing Rock, Marion Golf Course just to name a few. All of those are in the proximity of about 45 minutes to an hour drive and offer different year round activities such as snow skiing around Boone area, hiking, site-seeing and shopping.

The nearby towns of Nebo, Marion, and Morganton offer all conveniences and supplies. Bear Creek Marina offers a restaurant with bar area, live entertainment, and gas for motorized boats.
