A fully renovated Scandi-inspired tiny house where city, beach, and surf culture meet — 3 minutes to the shops, 5 to the beach, 5 to the train (10 to Cascais, 20 to Lisbon). Clean lines, natural light, and a dedicated workspace make Avenca ideal for a workation or a slow coastal stay. Self check-in means your own arrival time, no waiting on anyone. Not suited to small children or limited mobility — the mezzanine has open rails and steep stairs. Perfect for couples, surfers, and digital nomads.
Your Property
The Space
Welcome to Avenca da Praia — a beautifully renovated, Scandinavian-inspired tiny house where city, beach, and surf culture meet. Every corner is designed with simplicity and comfort in mind: clean lines, natural light, and thoughtful details that keep the atmosphere calm rather than cluttered, exactly what a small footprint done well should feel like.
Why Guests Love It
Fast, reliable wifi ideal for remote work; a dedicated workspace and strong dining table; a fully equipped kitchen; air conditioning; a private patio/backyard; a washing machine with dryer; self check-in; and shared beach access with train and public transport nearby.
Location
Near Avenca and Parede beach, Parede train station is a short walk away, connecting quickly to Cascais, Carcavelos, Guincho (surf and beaches), and central Lisbon. Shops, cafés, bakeries, and restaurants are all within walking distance, and free street parking sits nearby for guests who bring a car.
Ideal For Couples, digital nomads, surfers, and slow travellers looking for a stylish and well-located home base on Portugal's coast — not advisable for small children or guests with mobility or balance challenges, given the mezzanine's steep stairs.
Sleeping Arrangements
Bedroom 1 (downstairs) — Queen bed · Bedroom 2 (mezzanine) — 2 single beds (one expands to a double).
Living Area
A bright, open living space forms the heart of the ground floor — simple, uncluttered, and built around natural light rather than excess furniture. It's a genuinely comfortable spot to land after a day at the beach or a morning surf session.
Kitchen and Dining
The fully equipped kitchen handles real cooking, not just reheating, with a strong dining table that doubles as a proper workspace when it needs to.
Garden
A private patio/backyard extends the house outdoors — the spot for a morning coffee before the beach or an evening drink after.
Bedrooms
- Main bedroom (downstairs): a queen bed, private, quiet, and separate from the open living space above.
- Upstairs mezzanine: two single beds (one expands to a double), open to the living area below, reached via a set of steep stairs with a partial, wide rail. It's a distinctive loft-style layout, well suited to friends or a family with older children — but not advisable for small children or guests with mobility or balance challenge
Avenca da Praia suits couples, digital nomads, surfers, and slow travellers looking for a stylish, well-located home base on Portugal's coast.
Guest Access
Access to the entire tiny house and the private backyard patio.
Interaction with Guests
Our brand rests on one principle above all: independence, not absence. The smart lock removes the friction of a fixed handover — it doesn't remove the host. We're currently based between Copenhagen and Leicester, hosting remotely by design, and always a call or message away. Our friends in Parede — some living right by Avenca — can step in on the ground any time.
Other Details to Note
The mezzanine bedroom is open to the living room and reached via steep stairs with a partial, wide rail — this listing isn't advisable for small children or guests with mobility or balance challenges. Please plan accordingly.
Additional Rules
The Obvious
Take care of the house as you would your own, and leave everything where you found it. No food or drinks on the sofa. No smoking indoors (including vaping), and no cigarette butts on the patio. No unregistered guests, no parties. Turn off the air conditioning when you leave or when windows are open. House towels are for house use only — they aren't suitable for the beach, so please bring or buy separate beach towels (an extra laundry fee applies otherwise).
Checking Out
Return furniture and décor to their original place. Dispose of all waste — including anything left in the fridge or pantry — in the street containers. Close all windows and doors. Report any breakages or damage.
Local Laws
As required by Portuguese law, we ask all guests for personal ID data, which is reported to the local authorities.
Post/Use of Address
This is a short-term rental — please don't use the address for post, correspondence, or official matters. Arrange deliveries through courier during your stay.
Long Stays
For stays of 30 days or more, please be mindful of electricity use. Consumption above 350 kWh/month is charged in addition to the monthly fee.
Insects & Wildlife
This warm, humid stretch of coast is full of life — mosquitoes, gnats, lovebugs, or other bugs can appear depending on the season. We run regular pest control but can't promise a guarantee — keeping doors closed and food stored away helps keep it that way.
Check-in Method / Smart Lock Instructions
Avenca da Praia runs on a smart lock rather than physical keys.
Creating a Danalock account (reservation holder):
1. Download the Danalock CLASSIC app — Google Play · App Store
2. Sign in → Create an account → enter your email → set your password (twice)
Using the keys (in front of the door only):
1. Sign in to Danalock
2. Activate the link received by email

Sharing keys: the primary guest sets up the account and installs the key; other guests download the app and sign in with the same email and password — everyone shares one key.
For smooth entry: keep Bluetooth on; keys only show as active near the door; keep your phone's OS and the Danalock app updated.
