Interaction with Guests
Our brand rests on one principle above all: independence, not absence. The smart lock removes the friction of a fixed handover — it doesn't remove the host. We're currently based between Copenhagen and Leicester, hosting remotely by design, and reachable 24/7 through the Airbnb app, chat, or phone, usually within the hour. We also have friends nearby in Saldanha who can step in on the ground if anything needs a physical presence.

Other Details to Note
The home is set up for a maximum of six registered guests. No parties or events.

Additional Rules
The Obvious
Take care of the house as you would your own, and leave everything where you found it. No food or drinks on the sofa. No smoking indoors (including vaping). No unregistered guests, no parties. Turn off the air conditioning when you leave or when windows are open.

Checking Out
Return furniture and décor to their original place. Sort and dispose of waste in the ground-floor staircase containers — yellow lid for plastic, metal, and cartons; blue lid for paper and cardboard; grey lid for general waste (closed bags). Close all windows and doors.

Local Laws
As required by Portuguese law, we ask all guests for personal ID data, which is reported to the local authorities.

Post/Use of Address
This is a short-term rental — please don't use the address for post, correspondence, or official matters. Arrange deliveries through courier during your stay.

Long Stays
For stays of 30 days or more, please be mindful of electricity use. Consumption above 350 kWh/month is charged in addition to the monthly fee.

Insects & Wildlife
Lisbon's warm, green pockets come with the occasional mosquito, gnat, or lovebug depending on the season. We run regular pest control but can't promise a guarantee — keeping doors closed and food stored away helps keep it that way.
Check-in Method / Smart Lock Instructions
Jacaranda runs on a smart lock rather than physical keys.

Before arrival:

1. Download the Danalock CLASSIC app — Google Play · App Store
2. Sign in → Create an account → enter your email → set your password (twice)
3. Activate both key links (Street and Upstairs), sent the day before arrival

When at Jacaranda:

1. Jacaranda – Street link opens the downstairs door (brown door on the street)
2. Jacaranda – Upstairs link opens the upstairs door (to the left as you go up)
3. Green padlock opens the door · Red padlock closes it

Sharing keys: the primary guest sets up the account and installs the key; other guests download the app and sign in with the same email and password — everyone shares one key.

For smooth entry: keep Bluetooth on; don't reuse the activation link once the key is installed (it will error); keys only show as active near the door; keep your phone's OS and the Danalock app updated.

House Manual
Welcome to Jacaranda — we've built the house to be as intuitive as an Apple device, but here are a few pointers.

Air Conditioning/Heating — turn off when you leave the apartment or when windows are open.

Breakages/Damages — please report immediately.

Coffee — Delta Q pods/powder provided to start; more available at local supermarkets. Furniture — return to its original position before departure.

Garbage — sort and dispose of waste in the ground-floor staircase containers: yellow lid for plastic/metal/cartons, blue lid for paper/cardboard, grey lid for general waste (closed bags).

Key Info — house rules and key information (including the wifi code) are posted inside; please read on arrival.

Street Door Intercom — before pressing Danalock on the street door, ring the intercom for the 1st floor first (see the check-in video linked above).

Supermarkets — down the street, covering anything beyond the starter kit. Supplies — starter kit provided (toilet paper, shampoo, dishwasher liquid and tablets, garbage bags); local shops cover the rest.

Nearest Public Transport

- Metro — three lines, all walking distance: Saldanha (Red Line) — about 400m, a 5-minute walk; Picoas (Yellow Line) — about 350m, a 4-minute walk; Arroios/Praça do - Chile (Green Line) — about 750m, a 9-minute walk. Jacaranda sits right at the meeting point of all three lines, so onward connections anywhere in the city rarely need more than one change.
- Train: No mainline station at Saldanha itself; Roma-Areeiro (regional) is a short metro ride away.
- Bus: Multiple routes converge at Saldanha, within a couple of minutes on foot.
Tram: None in this immediate area.

Getting to/from the Airport (Humberto Delgado Airport, ~5km)

- Taxi/rideshare (Uber/Bolt): About 10–15 minutes on a normal day (longer at rush hour).
- Public transport: The Red Line runs direct from Saldanha to Aeroporto — about 30 minutes door to door, including the walk to the station. This is one of the most direct airport connections across the whole portfolio.
