This place was the perfect two day stay for me and my fiancé before heading off to Lockn’ Festival. Only 25 minutes from the festival grounds, and secluded enough in the woods. Pure silence at night, except for the peepers which is so relax. Our host was wonderful! She answered any question we had while still respecting your privacy, and checked in on us (via message) to make sure our stay was up to our standards. The place was super clean, smelt great (just like a woody cabin), and so much attention to small details to make your stay easy. You really only need to show up with your clothes and any food you want to eat, that’s it. Gold star for this awesome spot and can’t wait to hopefully return. - Anybody going to Lockn Festival in the future years: this is the perfect couple night stay before the festival. Wood Ridge Brewery was super cool, only 15 mins away. And the ladies who work at the Exxon gas station (15 mins away off of 29) were so nice to us, and literally made us the most bomb breakfast sandwiches on biscuits! Perfect stop before heading off to Lockn’!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

I can not say enough positive things about this cabin and the owners! First, the booking process was a breeze and the cabin was better than described. Second, the owners were so wonderful to work with. It is obvious that they really have pride of ownership. They not only take great care of their cabin, but they really work hard to make sure your stay there is perfect. The beds were very comfortable for everyone. We maxed out the occupancy with 4 adults and 4 kids for most of the 5 day stay. There was plenty of room for everyone and plenty to keep us occupied. It really felt like home at this cabin. We were able to cook wonderful meals in the fully equipped kitchen and relax in the evenings in the hot tub and by playing a little pool. There is wi-fi and on demand cable there as well. Although we were looking for an 'unplugged' sort of vacation, it was really nice to be able to check in on work and keep the kids occupied at times with the convenience of their favorite cartoons! The only issue we had was the hot tub cover breaking. However, it was not a problem at all because the owners were very apologetic and offered to take care of it ASAP. It did not hinder the vacation or use of the hot tub AT ALL and it was so nice (again) to have an owner who cared so much about our vacation and our comfort while staying at their cabin. The location of this cabin was also great! We felt like we were a very short drive from anything we needed or wanted to see, however, when we were in the cabin we couldnt see anything, except mountains, trees and nature. We will ABSOLUTELY be back!!!!

I cannot say enough about this lovely cabin! It's close enough to to Bryson City and Asheville to make day trips, yet so comfortable that you won't want to leave! We stayed for a week with my parents, and our 2 children. My parents stayed in the downstairs room, and my husband and I took the loft bedroom. It was so nice to have the second bath upstairs, and there was also an additional "spare room" upstairs where our 2 girls slept. They are 4 and 5 so we brought small cots for them to sleep on, to avoid having them roll out of a bed, but it would be perfect for a teenager or another adult guest. I can't rave enough about the bed, I slept better than I have EVER slept away from home. We cooked a full Thanksgiving dinner, as well as a week's worth of other meals, with no difficulty in needing any extra equipment. Maybe a few extra large platters/trays for serving, but that's probably not usually needed for most vacationers! We used all the equipment in the home, the dishwasher, clothes washer/dryer, gas fireplace, hot tub, everything is in top shape. And for a COLD week, the hot water heater and furnace were a pleasure after taking long walks! As noted, the driveway is a bit of an adventure, but we felt safe even after 24 hours of torrential rain followed by snow. Plus it means that the cabin is totally private and offers truly amazing views...

I stayed at this location with my mom, sister and a dog. After a long hike (for us at least) at the Shenandoah National Park Libby's place was less than 30 minutes away from our trail (we went to South River Falls Trail - highly recommended!) This was perfect, given we were all exhausted and drenched from the unexpected rain. The check-in process was seamless and unit # was clearly marked at the driveway as well as the doorway, making it easy to determine which of the duplex we were staying at. Libby was also prompt with her responses the entire time starting from the moment I booked the place (almost 2 months before). The interior felt warm and cozy. The kitchen was well equipped with various appliances. Although we did not get a chance to take advantage of the charcoal grill, fire pit and sauna outside (it was humid and rainy the entire stay), we had a great time unwinding in the house. The minor thing that caught my attention was that there was no cooking oil in the pantry, although it was listed as one of the amenity items. But it was NOT a big deal, as the level of cooking we did was suuuper low. There were so many other essentials (sugar, salt, spices etc) so you can probably cook up various things that kitchen. My sister and I slept in separate rooms that faced the road, and noticed that we could hear the sound of the passing cars at night and early in the morning (no honking or anything, just the sound of cars passing). We were still able to get a good night sleep, but might be bothersome for some light sleepers (almost sounded like a white noise to me, so it didn't really bother me). I would stay again if I come back to the area in the future.

This vacation rental is truly a “home away from home” place to stay! Comfort, peacefulness, and convenience are some of the words that best describe it. The owner, Stacey, has thought of everything to make your time there be inviting and enjoyable! From snacks on the kitchen table upon arrival, notes throughout with helpful information, and a vegetable garden and some quail in the backyard, there’s every reason to feel welcome. Thanks for being a top-notch host, Stacey!!

This cabin really does have it all! Even though it is a 110+ year old cabin, Diane and Patrick have done a great job of updating it! One thing I loved was that there are very few latchable doors. Even the front and back doors rely on the modern programmable deadbolts to latch. As a matter of fact, the back door is a Dutch door! It comes in handy if you want to just throw a few things in the recycle bin without having to let too much cold in! The kitchen was modern without detracting from the feel of the home. The standout star, however, is the totally redone bathroom with heated floors! This may seem frivolous, but if you stay during the winter, you will 100% appreciate it. One thing to be aware of if you do stay during the winter is that it is an old cabin… it is hard to heat, but if you cut the gas stove on in the living room when you first wake up, it will get you warmed up. The beds are ready for the cold with a flannel top sheet and a duvet. You will definitely stay warm! You can hear traffic pretty well from the front of the house as it is on a busy street, but it isn’t really noticeable from the bedroom. Like they say, it is a price for convenience as this cabin is very close to anything you need. With a gas station just a hop away and restaurants and Ingle’s within a few miles, you couldn’t ask for a better spot. I wish it had been warmer so that we could have really appreciated the outside area. We did turn the hanging lights on and enjoy the hot tub, but we didn’t stay outside much other than that. All in all, I don’t think I could have been happier with the experience. If we go back to the Asheville area, I will definitely try to book again!

If you’re looking for a cabin in the Great Smokey Mountains area your search has ended. Make the trek up to the top of the hill to the Misty Mountain Hop. Where when you open the door to the cabin you’ll be met with a fresh clean smelling cabin, step inside and you’ll immediately be greeted with a remarkable view of the mountains. The place has large comfortable beds, an awesome porch, comfy sofas, a gas grill, and kitchen equipped to cook some tasty meals. There is an easy hiking trail just outside the front door. It’s also centrally located to all the mountain activities. I’d recommend the zip line outfit Climb Works for an exciting time. We had the opportunity to speak with Luke on the phone to help us trouble shoot an issue with the TV. He was very responsive and the ladies in my party loved his voice. This was the second stop on my Tennessee trip and the quiet and solitude was welcome relief from the crowds in Nashville. And since this place has a lyrical name let me leave you with a couple of verses. So let me move over and let Jimi take over … Well, she's walking through the clouds, With a circus mind that's running wild, Butterflies and Zebras, And Moonbeams and fairy tales. That's all she ever thinks about. Riding with the wind. When I'm sad, she comes to me, With a thousand smiles she gives to me free. It's alright, she says it's alright, Take anything you want from me, Anything. Fly on little wing. ~Papa T

I'm late writing this review, but better late then never is what I always say lol. The stay was wonderful! It is an absolute BEAUTIFUL place, has a very "Homey" feel to it. We stayed Feb23-25th, for our annual weekend get-away, and am so Glad we found this lil gem. The mountain views are WONDERFUL. It is close to Ober Ski Resort, we watched ppl going down on the tubes from our balcony. One thing to be aware of, where u are so high up, that at nites the wind can get strong, real strong, I told my husband I wonder if it was like that in the Summer or just winter. One thing did not work during our stay, the VCR in the bedroom did not work, no big deal but kinda a bummer when ur 4 yr old granddaughter has discovered the VHS Disney movies that they have there for u lol, but like I said no big deal. The only issue we had, which turned out to be my mistake, was when we arrived I couldn't get ahold of the owner to get the code to unlock the door and get inside. The front desk n I both called and no luck. I told her that I would check my inbox again and make sure they hadnt sent it, I looked only to see that they had actually sent all that info like a week ahead before I got there. I felt so dumb n embarrassed as to the experience with previous owners while going on vacation they never would send that info until the day I arrived, never would have guessed this one was sent a week early. Like I said, it wasnt the owners fault that I didnt look and pay attention to my messages in my inbox. The owner called me that night making sure I got in, I explained what happened and I apologized for my stupid mistake. He said that from then on that he would update his info to have his cell number n not just his house number since he was out that nite, he apologized to me, but like I said it was my fault for not paying attention to the previous messages. Our stay was wonderful, rental was very nice and very clean. We will def come back next year!
