Relaxation awaits you at Wind Beneath My Wings, a charmingly updated original Holden Beach oceanfront cottage. Upstairs you'll find 3 bedrooms, two full baths, 4 tv's with expanded cable (...a tv in every bedroom) , DVD player, ceiling fans in every room, and hardwood floors. All this is complimented by hand-rubbed whitewashed tongue and groove walls. The kitchen features an eat-in bar, and opens into a bright and cheery great room, perfect for gathering the family 'round for an evening of games or watching a favorite movie. The Oceanside sunporch, furnished with rocking chairs, is THE place to catch the ocean breezes, taste the salt air, and delight in the antics of children playing in the ocean swells. There's even a picnic table on the sunporch, a favorite place to enjoy lunchtime treats! A private boardwalk takes you to the beach. And if you want a little quieter experience, check out the bistro table on the streetside porch. It features unobstructed views of the salt marsh beyond, and of the gorgeous sunsets over the intracoastal waterway.

Take the interior spiral staircase to the downstairs. There you will be delighted to find another brightly decorated greatroom, another fully stocked kitchen (2 refrigerators in this family-friendly home ! ), 3 TVs with expanded cable (...a tv in every bedroom) , 2 bedrooms and a full bath. Sliding glass doors lead to a deck with Adirondack chairs, a perfect place to relax while studying the beautiful night sky. Another private boardwalk with shower will lead you to your slice of heaven on Holden Beach. Our heated saltwater pool with tanning shelf, and the pool deck with seating will further expand your living space. Challenge yourself on the Holden Beach Fit Trail, located just across the street. You'll find a hot/cold outdoor shower right outside your door, great for rinsing off before coming in for a fresh seafood dinner !!

We allow one small dog (under 45 pounds) of acceptable breed, age, and temperament with pet fee. Any additional pet(s) must be approved through property owner and will result in a pet fee. It is important to note that Dogs are NOT allowed in the pool.

We are so excited to announce installation of a private saltwater pool !

The pool is a generous 12 x 23 with plenty of decking. We will have heating capability for the early spring and later fall rentals. Heat must be requested at least 1 week prior to your arrival.

This private pool will be open from Easter - October. If you choose pool heat, we will turn on the heater 24 hours prior to your arrival during April, May, Sept and Oct, with the understanding that outdoor weather conditions greatly affect pool water temperature. Pool heaters cannot operate if the temperature outside is under 55 degrees.

ABOUT BRINGING YOUR DOG: We allow one small dog (under 45 pounds) of acceptable breed, age, and temperament with fee . Any additional pet(s) must be approved through property owner and will result in a pet fee. This fee is not to cover damages caused by a pet, but just covers the privilege of bringing them along on your vacation. Any cost resulting from damages, extra cleaning, fleas, odors, etc. that occur as a result from a pet being in a property will be deducted from your refundable security deposit.-Please pick up any and all pet waste after your pet whether on or off the rental property.-PUPPIES ARE NOT ALLOWED. -Nails must be clipped to avoid scratching damage.-The pet MUST be on a flea program, and owner must be able to provide evidence of such program if required. -The pet can NOT be left unattended.-The pet is NOT allowed on the furnishings or in/on bedding. -Pets are NOT allowed on the beach from May 20 to September 10, with the exception of the hours from 5:00 pm to 9:00 am. Dogs are NOT allowed in the pool. Your reservation will be canceled with no refund if you allow your dog in the pool.

CANCELLATIONS AND TRANSFERS. In the event there is a cancellation or a transfer of a confirmed rental for any reason, Owner must be notified in writing, email or fax. We will make every reasonable effort to re-rent the cancelled property. If the cancelled property is re-rented for the original lease amount, tenant will receive a refund of the payment made less $225.00, reservation fee, credit card processing fees, applicable taxes, and applicable taxes. Refunds will be made within 60 days after receipt of entire balance due on new reservations, on same property, same rental period, and same rental rate;

SURVEILLIANCE: There are surveillance cameras located on the exterior of the property. There are no cameras located inside the cottage. The surveillance cameras overlook the parking areas, exterior entry doors and pool, and are installed primarily for deterrence and monitoring purposes when the property is not rented or is not occupied by the property owner. Tampering with the cameras in any way is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate removal of all guests from the property and forfeiture of all amounts paid.

ABOUT HOLDEN BEACH: Welcome to Holden Beach, North Carolina, where family values and old fashioned fun are still a part of your vacation. Holden Beach has a very small commercial area on the island. That point is considered by many to be a key reason to keep them coming back year after year. While there are limited commercial establishments on the island, everything one could desire is located within a short driving distance.

The causeway leading to the island contains numerous specialty stores and shops, and the Town of Shallotte just 10 minutes away has several chain grocery and department stores that provide all the necessities. Wilmington and Myrtle Beach are only 35-45 minutes away and if you can't find what you're looking for there, it doesn't exist.

There are over 125 superb golf courses within a one-hour drive from Holden Beach. Courses range from very challenging to user-friendly for golfers who don't always hit the ball where they want it to go. The Myrtle Beach area is perhaps the best region in the United States to find a course just right.

Boating, fishing and hiking the island are very popular activities. Shell hunters can find so many that the kids will fill up the car when they return home. The island is a sea turtle habitat and during the hatching season (May to October) those who don't mind staying up late at night can witness one of nature's most interesting pleasures – watching hundreds of small sea turtles "boil' out of the sand and marching to the ocean.

There is no other North Carolina barrier island like Holden Beach. If you're looking for low commercial impact, and a friendly family-oriented atmosphere, you have come to the right place.
