We are SO Excited to Announce Pool Installation Plans !!!!!!!

We just got confirmation from our pool installer that our pool has been delivered to their warehouse! For 2022, we will have a brand new saltwater pool with decking at Wind Beneath My Wings ! Many of you have asked for this amenity, and we are happy to make it available to you. We are currently scheduled for installation in winter 2021/2022. The pool will be a generous 12 x 23, with plenty of decking and furniture for both the upper unit and the lower unit to enjoy. Once installation is complete, we will have a new photo shoot so you can see our new addition ! We will have heating capability for the early spring and later fall rentals. There will be a heating fee for those that request pool heat in advance. Heat must be requested at least 1 week prior to your arrival.

This private oceanside pool will be open from Easter - October. If you choose to purchase pool heat, we will turn on the heater 24 hours prior to your arrival. With the understanding that outdoor weather conditions greatly affect pool water temperature and under the best of conditions, the pool can be heated to a maximum of 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Pool heaters can only maintain a temperature of 8-10 degrees above outside air temperature. Pool heaters cannot operate if the temperature outside is under 55 degrees.

We are also in talks with our contractor to build a full length street side deck on the second level of our home to allow guests to lounge there while watching those in the pool below. That upper deck area, which will feature views of both the ocean and the pool, will provide an uncovered area and also a shady place for those who have had a bit too much sun. We plan to rebuild the ocean side deck so it, too will run the full length of the house

You'll find a hot/cold outdoor shower right outside your door, great for rinsing off before coming in for a fresh seafood dinner !!

This is a ground-level unit with no ocean view. From the Oceanside windows you will see the dunes. From the streetside window you will see the marsh and the intracoastal waterway beyond. Your deck is furnished with bench seating, where you can relax atop the dunes while watching the ocean waves roll in. 2 BEDROOM, 1 BATH, SLEEPS 6. BR #1 KG with TV, (DN) BR #2 2 twins, and a bunkbed (4 twin mattresses in this bedroom). 4 Adults Maximum. Sleeps 6.

This pet friendly property allows one small dog (under 45 pounds) along with a $250 non-refundable pet fee. It is important to note that no dogs are allowed in the pool.

CANCELLATIONS AND TRANSFERS. In the event there is a cancellation or a transfer of a confirmed rental for any reason, Owner must be notified in writing, email or fax. We will make every reasonable effort to re-rent the cancelled property. If the cancelled property is re-rented for the original lease amount, tenant will receive a refund of the payment made less $225.00, reservation fee, credit card processing fees, applicable taxes, and the trip insurance premium. Refunds will be made within 60 days after receipt of entire balance due on new reservations, on same property, same rental period, and same rental rate;

We purchased this home when our children were young. We used the 2 bedroom downstairs ourselves and rented the 3 bedroom upper unit. We did not want to be in our renter's way, or make them overly aware of us. So we put in separate boardwalks, separate showers on each boardwalk, separate bench seating on the deck, and we insulated heavily between the floors. Our children grew up and had children of their own. We'd outgrown our cozy 2 bedroom unit. We then put in a spiral staircase that connects the two units, so it can be used as one 5 bedroom home with two living areas and two kitchens during the peak summer season when large combined families vacation together. We have a lock out door and insulation for the stairwell that we put in place during the spring and autumn. We've rented our lower unit and the upper unit simultaneously to unrelated parties for many years now. We have no problems or complaints about this arrangement from our renters who choose our home. Offering both units for rent simultaneously allows us to price very competitively. The VRBO listing number for the 3 bedroom 2 bath upper unit is 870264. The VRBO listing number for the whole house (5 bedroom 3 bath, 2 kitchens, 2 living areas) is 869594.

This pet friendly property allows one small dog (under 45 pounds) along with a $250 non-refundable pet fee. Any additional or larger pet(s) must be approved by property owner and may result in multiple pet fees. This fee is not to cover damages caused by a pet, but just covers the privilege of bringing them along on your vacation. Any cost resulting from damages, extra cleaning, fleas, odors, etc. that occur as a result from a pet being in a property will be deducted from your refundable security deposit.

-Please pick up any and all pet waste after your pet whether on or off the rental property.

-Puppies are not allowed.

-Nails must be clipped to avoid scratching damage.

-The pet MUST be on a flea program, and owner must be able to provide evidence of such program if required.

-The pet can NOT be left unattended.

-The pet is NOT allowed on the furnishings or in/on bedding.

-Pets are NOT allowed on the beach from May 20 to September 10, with the exception of the hours from 5:00 PM to 9:00 AM. Daytime during the summer season the beach is off limits to pets and fines may be given by beach patrol to anyone with a dog on the beach.

-It is the guest's responsibility to report any problems or damages caused by their pet. Please see #14 on your Rental Lease Agreement.

Welcome to Holden Beach, North Carolina, where family values and old fashioned fun are still a part of your vacation. Holden Beach has a very small commercial area on the island. That point is considered by many to be a key reason to keep them coming back year after year. While there are limited commercial establishments on the island, everything one could desire is located within a short driving distance.

The causeway leading to the island contains numerous specialty stores and shops, and the Town of Shallotte just 10 minutes away has several chain grocery and department stores that provide all the necessities. Wilmington and Myrtle Beach are only 35-45 minutes away and if you can't find what you're looking for there, it doesn't exist.

There are over 125 superb golf courses within a one-hour drive from Holden Beach. Courses range from very challenging to user-friendly for golfers who don't always hit the ball where they want it to go. The Myrtle Beach area is perhaps the best region in the United States to find a course just right. Seasonal rates vary.

Boating, fishing and hiking the island are very popular activities. Shell hunters can find so many that the kids will fill up the car when they return home. The island is a sea turtle habitat and during the hatching season (May to October) those who don't mind staying up late at night can witness one of nature's most interesting pleasures – watching hundreds of small sea turtles "boil' out of the sand and marching to the ocean.

There is no other North Carolina barrier island like Holden Beach. Low commercial impact, hundreds of beautiful rental homes (many with dockage for fishing and pleasure boating) and a wholesome family-oriented atmosphere.

Payment Policy
50% due at time of booking.  Remainder due 90 days prior to arrival. Upon receipt of payment, signed agreement and govt ID, your reservation is confirmed. If agreement and ID are not received within 48 hours, your reservation will be canceled without further notice. All payments must be made in US funds. Returned (NSF) check fee is $34. Your payment and NSF fee must be paid immediately by certified or cashier’s check, to avoid cancellation. NSF payments by check or credit card will not be redeposited or charged a second time. . Your lease agreement is your final billing notice and will list the date final payment will be due. You will NOT receive an additional balance due notification prior to arrival, so be sure to mark your calendar! You may pay with personal check if final payment is received 90 days prior to your arrival date.  A late fee of $55.00 will be accessed to all accounts that are not paid in full 90 days in advance.
For reservations made within 90 days of arrival, balance must be paid in full at time of booking.  Only certified funds, credit card or cash will be accepted.

Refundable Damage Deposit
SECURITY DEPOSITS. A security deposit is required on all rentals.  
The security deposit will be refunded back to the guest who booked the reservation and will be refunded back to credit card of the initial 1st payment of record. Refunds are credited back to the 1st credit card used to book and hold the reservation, provided the cottage is left in good condition, no items are missing including batteries from remotes, no damage has occurred and no service calls or expenses to the owner have resulted from:  moving or disconnecting electronics or furniture, smoking in a NON SMOKING property, having a pet in a NO PETS property or pet damage or additional cleanup, exceptionally dirty or not adhering to the requirements of duties by guest prior to check out, non-standard departure clean, long distant phone calls, cable charges, etc. The security deposit may be applied to actual damages or expenses caused by tenants, as permitted under the Tenant Security Deposit Act. Should damages or expenses occur that exceed the amount of the security deposit, the remaining balance will be billed to and paid by the guest. Please register and report any problems, un-cleanliness, or damage in your property the day of check-in, or you can/will be held responsible.  Allow 14 days from day of departure for refund.
