Cayuga lake cottage with private lake access - Lansing

This cozy one-story cottage offers stunning lake views from above and a comfortable layout for small families or groups. It features two bedrooms: one with a queen bed and a child-sized cot, and the other with a twin bunk bed and an additional queen bed.

The open-concept living, dining, and kitchen areas create a welcoming space to relax and gather. The bathroom, located just off the kitchen, includes a standing shower (no tub).

Please note: the property sits on a hill overlooking the lake, so while the view is beautiful, the walk down to the dock is steep. Guests with mobility concerns will find the stairs very challenging.

This is a simple, no-frills cottage—under 800 square feet—with no dishwasher or laundry facilities. It’s the perfect spot for unplugging and enjoying the peaceful lake setting.

Behind the house, you'll find a yard and patio area for relaxing or dining outdoors. To reach the lake, you'll need to cross a set of train tracks located just beyond the yard. These tracks are rarely active and only see a train a few times per year.

The cottage is just 15 minutes from downtown Ithaca, where you can explore local restaurants, shops, and farmers markets. Don’t miss the chance to visit iconic local attractions like Ithaca Falls, Buttermilk Falls State Park, and the scenic trails at Taughannock Falls. The area is also home to excellent wineries, craft breweries, and live music venues—perfect for a fun and memorable getaway.

The whole house and property are all yours! We may occasionally and briefly need to use the dock or access the garage, but we'll let you know ahead of time and we will be sure not to disturb you.

- The driveway is short but steep. If you don't feel comfortable driving down it, please park on the grassy area right off the road and walk down to the house.

- We don't have a washer & dryer or dishwasher in the house.

- The stairs down to the lake are very steep and those with mobility issues may not be able to use them.

- You can jump or step into the lake from our dock. We don’t have a ladder into the water.

- Because the stairs to the lake are steep, you won’t be able to launch kayaks, canoes, boats, etc from our dock, unless they are very easy to carry. If you’re bringing a boat, kayaks, canoes, etc with you, you can launch at the Salt Point boat launch in Meyers Park. You’re welcome to keep your watercraft at our dock, but please don’t attempt to carry anything too heavy down the steep steps that lead to the lake.

- We would like to kindly ask that you do not invite additional guests to the house without prior notice. We're more than happy to have you host meals, etc with additional friends and family, but we do not allow parties or underage drinking.

- Lawn maintenance might happen during your stay, between the hours of 10 AM and 6 PM.

- Early check-in and late checkout fee: $20/hour. Please note, early check-in / late checkout can only be granted if we don't have another guest checking in/out the same day. We can confirm availability one day in advance.

- If you absolutely need early check-in or late checkout, please book an extra day to account for that.
