How to add a co-host for the listing on Houfy

Last updated August 24, 2026

Go to Edit listing > Settings > Contact person. (Contact person sits inside the Settings group in the sidebar, so open Settings first.)

Open the Listing co-hosts section and click Add a co-host.

Enter the email address your co-host uses on Houfy, or the one they will use to create an account. Houfy emails them an invitation, and emails you a confirmation that it went out. The dialog is headed Invite a friend and has one Email address box. Below it you must tick I agree to Co-host Terms of Service - it warns that a co-host can act on your behalf and that you are responsible for anything they do while hosting your space - and then click Invite.

The invitation is valid for 7 days. Until it is accepted it shows as pending with its expiry date, and you can use Resend (which starts a fresh 7 days) or Cancel invite. If it expires, just send it again. The email itself shows a photo of the listing, its name, an Expires date and time, and a Get started button.

Once they sign up or log in, they get a link to accept the co-host invitation. When they accept it, they become your co-host. They also get a banner across the top of Houfy reading "Co-host invitation from [your name] for hosting [listing]". On the acceptance page they tick I agree to the co-host Terms of Service and click Accept invite.

Your co-host finds the listings they co-host under Co-hosted Listings in the left menu. That menu item only appears once someone is a co-host on at least one listing.

What you can let a co-host do

Five separate switches, each off until you turn it on:

  • Listing data: co-host can edit listing data.

  • Reservations data: co-host can read your reservations, send messages, etc.

  • Guest messages: receive email when the guest replies to the reservation.

  • Multi-calendar: co-host sees the listing in the multi-calendar.

  • Payment settings: allow the co-host to set their own payout method. You have to approve it.

A few things worth knowing: the panel is built for up to 3 co-hosts per listing; you remain the host shown on the reservation; and when you add a co-host they can act on your behalf, so you are responsible for what they do while hosting your space. You can change any permission or remove a co-host at any time from the same section.
