How do I sync my Airbnb calendar with my Houfy calendar?

Note: this guide covers calendar sync by iCal, which is free on every plan and syncs availability in both directions. Your listing calendar also shows a Connect Airbnb Account panel - that is our direct Airbnb channel connection, a separate paid-plan feature that syncs listing content and rates as well. You do not need it for calendar sync.

This process only needs to be done once, and it has two halves: Airbnb into Houfy, then Houfy into Airbnb.

TIP: open two browser tabs so you can switch between Airbnb and Houfy.

Step 1: bring your Airbnb calendar into Houfy

On Airbnb, go to Host and select Listings, then select the listing. Open Calendar, click Availability settings, scroll down to Sync calendars, choose Export Calendar and copy the URL.

Then on Houfy:

1. Go to Manage Listings and open the listing.

2. Click Calendar.

3. Click Import in the calendar toolbar (top right). On a phone or a narrow window the buttons show as icons only - Import is the downward arrow, Export the upward arrow.

4. Paste the Airbnb link into the iCal URL field.

5. Under Calendar Name (optional), type a name such as Airbnb.

6. Pick a colour so Airbnb bookings stand out on your calendar.

7. Under Import Options choose Everything, so both Airbnb's bookings and the dates you have blocked on Airbnb come across. Only Reservations brings the bookings and ignores your blocked dates.

8. Click Import Calendar.

Step 2: send your Houfy calendar to Airbnb

On Houfy, open the same listing's Calendar and click Export in the toolbar, then copy the URL.

On Airbnb, go to Host and select Listings, then select the listing. Open Calendar, click Availability settings, scroll down to Sync calendars, choose Import Calendar, paste the Houfy URL, name it Houfy and click Import calendar.

Once both halves are done the two calendars keep each other up to date.
