Desert Hot Springs vacation rentals

We had the most perfect romantic weekend getaway at the WildFlower Cabin! There were thoughtful touches throughout — from the complimentary s’mores kit to the hotel slippers and toiletries. The 360 degree mountain views from all the big windows were absolutely stunning and getting the chance to relax in the hot tub under the starry desert night sky was quite the experience! Claudie and Jeffery were amazing hosts — extremely responsive and attentive to our needs. On our first night, we started cooking in the kitchen and inquired about whether or not there was a baking sheet for us to use. They said no, but then very generously offered to come drop one off to us in the morning! If you’re planning on cooking, be mindful of the lack of a ventilation system in the kitchen and be sure to open up the windows/door. We made that mistake and accidentally set off the fire alarm, but Claudie and Jeffery were nice about it and then even brought along an extra fan for us in the morning when they came to drop off the baking sheet. All in all, it was a 5 star experience and we will absolutely return to this beautiful cabin! It is truly an oasis in the desert and we cannot recommend it enough!

We had the most amazing experience staying at House Rising Sun. The Villa is clean and modern, and has everything we need including kid cups, utensils and toys. The FUN in this house is endless. Everything you could think of to keep you entertained during the day and at night. For Gym fans, they have a pull up bar and a waterrower to keep you in shape. Billiard table for adults, foosball for the kids during the day and Mini golf is pretty fun to play with in the evening. The swim spa is a great feature to have for cooling down on a summer day. The jet on the poolside is impressive to keep up with. The view of the backyard is relaxed and breathtaking, kinda reminding us of a summer in Tuscany. When night falls, the firepit keeps us cozy. All the bedding is so comfortable. The bathrooms are super clean which is very important to me . Kid's room is charming! My kids enjoy this house thoroughly and so do I. Definitely want to come back when we are out here in the desert.

What a wonderful place to stay, relax and enjoy the Coachella Valley. Let me start by saying it is unfair to label this merely as a "rental property" as it is a delightful, welcoming home away from home that immerses you in the character of the area. Eric has gone above and beyond to provide a unique place to stay and be part of the character and vistas you came to experience. We have stayed at over 30 Home Away and VRBO spots and while some owners and managers have been great, Eric truly deserves the title of "host". His approach is welcoming and thoughtful, he provides clear and complete information and he takes being a host to heart. The place is charming, spacious and well equipped. It interesting to just look around at all the period pieces. It is quiet and relaxing both indoors and out by the pool and spa. As far as location, you are well placed to see the unbelievable Joshua Tree National Park, Palm Springs Art Museum and many restaurants and shops, the Coachella Reserve, the Living Desert, the outlet malls, Shields Date Garden and, just a few blocks away, the amazing Cabot's Pueblo Museum. Desert Hot Springs is a mecca for spas - and has the supermarkets that you need along with numerous Mexican restaurants. If you are looking to relax at a unique character spot with a great host, this is the place for you. We will be back.

THE COST: At first the cost seemed high because we had the max amount of people (it turned out to be $205 per room for night for August 2020). Be sure to input the right amount of people so you get the accurate price. It was worth it for the following reasons. THE AC + POOL made our stay a breeze in 104 degree August heat! I was really worried about the heat, but it wasn't an issue. We even brought our hairless dog & kept his t-shirt wet & water bowl full & he was happy! BIG ENOUGH INSIDE + OUTSIDE: We reserved the entire complex with our friends + family (9 adults + 6 kids) which made for the ultimate private vacation. We kept the hot tub cool so it acted as the "little pool" to have enough room for us all in the water. THE KITCHENS: Equipped to make our grand breakfasts lunch & dinners which saved us $. It was also an awesome reprieve from covid distancing in restaurants. THE ROOMS were shear joy! It's like we walked into a MadMen apartment. Mid century furniture all the way to mid century melamine dishes for outdoors! Even the accessories, magazines, art, coffee cups were from the 1950's; remember the "View Master" you would look thru & click thru images... they even had one of those in every room! THE NEIGHBORHOOD is a bit desolate, but it's private enough to not see all that & to have fun without worrying you're going to disturb the neighbors. With all this said, this may very well be our YEARLY RETREAT!

I stayed at The Getaway for eight days; it was so cozy for both me and my pup. The unit was decked out with thoughtful and quirky mid-century touches throughout — I was always noticing something new. I appreciated that there was a well-stocked kitchen, lots of towels, extra bedding, books galore and an eclectic record collection. I worked remotely from the unit during the second half of my stay, and the wifi was strong and reliable for all of my Zoom calls (both inside and outside). The pool and pool area were clean and well-kept. Someone came by to clean the pool at least twice while I was there. The outside space has places for lounging and dining al fresco, and I took full advantage. There's also a great view of the mountains, which made for lovely sunsets and even a couple of desert thunderstorms. One of the best parts was the location. It's super close to Palm Springs and Joshua Tree, which allowed me and my pup to do all of the exploring we had hoped to do. Two tiny things worth mentioning: The Getaway and surrounding area were very quiet for the majority of my stay. There were some moments when I could hear my neighbors through the walls. The A/C is a little startling, especially in the middle of the night(!), so that took some getting used to. Eric was a kind and gracious host and easy to communicate with. I even got to meet him when he stopped by the complex. The Getaway really was the relaxing getaway that I needed, and I hope to stay again the next time I'm in the desert!
