Guests have access to the entire home, with the exception of one locked storage cabinet, one locked kitchen cabinet, and the garage.

Highland park, established as an artsy enclave with Craftsman homes in the early 20th century, is now a vibrant and classic LA mix of long time Latino families and trendy cafes next to boutique shops. These days, the district is considered one of the coolest neighborhoods in the city. The immediate area boasts some of the city’s most buzz worthy restaurants, like Joy, Cafe Birdie, Nativo, and Otoño, as well as one of Los Angeles’s great city parks with trails sporting panoramic views of the DTLA skyline on one side and the nearby mountains on the other. Hop in a car and drive ten minutes in one direction to the best Downtown LA has to offer, or ten minutes in the other to dine and shop in Old Town Pasadena. You’re only twenty minutes from San Gabriel mountain trails with bubbling springs and tucked away waterfalls—and, in the other direction, around 30 from the Pacific beaches of Santa Monica and Venice.

This is a walkable area; for farther attractions, a car or ride share is recommended.

- Please remove your shoes before entering the home.

- Ensure all guests are accounted for within your reservation. We DO NOT allow anyone that is not accounted for onto the property, even if they do not intend on staying the night. Unannounced guests will result in a $100 per guest, per night, charge to your account AND you will need to vacate immediately.

- ****If you use the grill or outdoor furniture, please be sure to clean up and replace the covers afterwards. Ensure the outdoor umbrella is closed when not in use, to avoid the wind carrying it off; a $100 fee will apply if the outdoors are left in disarray.****

- Please do not allow pets on furniture, including beds.

- We have gardeners visit to do routine maintenance every two weeks. They will arrive to do their work every other Thursday at approximately 1pm. If this causes you any trouble, please let us know.

HELPFUL INFORMATION:
Parking Enforcement - There is street cleaning twice a week which limits parking during the morning hours on Wednesday and Thursday for alternating sides of the street. Please be mindful of the signs, they will ticket you!

Backyard - Outdoor string lights are connected to the outlet behind the gardening cabinet. Press the button on the side of the smart plug to operate.
There is wood for the fire pit in the rack on the side of the house and lighting materials in the small kitchen drawer nearest the back door. *Please replace the covers on the fire pit and the sofas when you are done, and make sure to turn off the lights.* Due to the heightened fire risk in our city, please be extra careful when using the fire pit.

Bugs - NELA is spider country, for better and worse. You will find a spider spray in the laundry cart near the back door, and a tool to safely trap and release spiders or other bugs in the tiny kitchen drawer, closest to the back door.

Fireworks - Angelenos love their fireworks and Highland Park is no exception. Please don’t be alarmed if you happen to hear one go off!

Trash - The trash will need to be taken to the curb on MONDAYS for Tuesday's pick up. The blue bin is for glass, plastic, and cardboard. The black bin is for other trash. If you’d like to compost, please use the small green bags in the kitchen drawer and drop them in the compost bin by the back door. It will be grateful if you give it a few turns whenever you can :)
