Hen at Bluff Creek was designed for the kind of Smoky Mountain escape where you and your loved one actually slow down for a minute.
↟ Tucked into the trees on a peaceful wooded lot, the cabin feels private, quiet, and secluded, while still being just minutes from Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, hiking trails, restaurants, and the National Park. It's the kind of location that lets you do as much or as little as you want: a full day exploring, or absolutely nothing at all. Couples tell us that balance is exactly what they came for, and that Hen consistently delivers exactly what was promised.
Mornings here tend to start slowly:
➟ Sipping on coffee on the porch swing, facing into the trees.
➟ Smelling the fresh mountain air and the sounds of the seasonal creek nearby.
➟ Watching the occasional black bear wandering through the woods below while you settle in and realize the hardest part of the day might just be convincing yourself to leave the deck.
After a day exploring the Smokies, come back to your own cozy cabin retreat and sink into the hot tub. Guests consistently tell us they end up spending more time at Hen than they originally planned because it feels so peaceful, quiet, and easy to settle into. More than a few have told us it felt like renting from a friend, and like a true home away from home.
800 Sq Ft True Log Cabin | 2 Levels Open Loft | ¾ Acre Private Land | Private Hot Tub, Charcoal Grill & Creekside Outdoor Fire Pit | Whole Property High Speed WiFi
✴ INSIDE THE CABIN ✴
Hen has been described as:
"better than the pictures"
"one of the cleanest Airbnbs we have ever stayed in."
"Everything is exactly as described."
Two levels of authentic log cabin warmth meet a modern farmhouse aesthetic with cool, soft tones and industrial accents.
Guests consistently say arriving here feels like coming home.
>>>A living room made for slowing down<<<
Some of your best memories here might be the ones you didn't plan: curling up together under a blanket with a movie on the 65" 4K Smart TV and Sonos soundbar, pulling out the Super Nintendo Classic on a rainy afternoon (guests love it more than they expect to), or sinking into the couch with nowhere to be after a long day on the trails. The electric fireplace flickers in the background, and the tall timber and treetop views make it easy to forget the outside world exists. Guests call this space "cozy," "peaceful," and (probably the highest compliment) "hard to leave."
>>>A kitchen you'll actually want to cook in<<<
The fully stocked kitchen has everything needed for real meals: full-size stainless steel appliances, an air fryer, cookware, utensils, spices, and oil. Couples who have stayed with us have baked breakfast, cooked full dinners, and made popcorn for movie nights. The eat-in breakfast bar and four-person dining nook make it easy to linger over morning coffee before heading out, or just stay in entirely.
>>>The loft: where you'll sleep like you mean it<<<
Upstairs, the open loft overlooks the trees and delivers that classic cabin-in-the-mountains feeling couples come back for. The queen gel-foam bed is dressed in luxury bamboo-blend linens, and thoughtful touches like USB and AC charging stations on each side of the bed make it easy to stay up a little late and sleep in a little longer. Slip into your custom Fox & Hen Bluff Creek waffle robe and let the morning come to you. Longer, slower mornings are kind of the point.
>>>The practical stuff (that guests are glad for)<<<
The cabin has central HVAC with forced air heat and A/C, so you're comfortable in any season. An oversized 70" ceiling fan keeps the great room breezy on warmer nights. The full bathroom with shower and tub combo sits just off the dining nook, and the half bath directly off the loft bedroom means no trips downstairs in the middle of the night. A dedicated desk nook with task lighting is upstairs for anyone who needs to sneak in some work, though the peaceful surroundings make productivity genuinely difficult. The water runs through a full purification filtration system, so there is no need for plastic bottles.
✴ OUTSIDE YOUR DOOR ✴
The outdoor spaces at Hen are where a lot of the magic happens, and guests are often surprised by how much time they spend out here.
The covered deck is where you'll find the private hot tub, perfect for a soak after a long day on the trails (or Dollywood!) while peeking at wildlife through the trees. Bears have been spotted from this very deck, sometimes on the first morning. The double porch swing faces into the woods and has a way of turning a "just a few minutes" moment into an entire morning. No matter the season, guests love sitting out here, from snowy winter evenings to summer nights lit by fireflies putting on what one guest called "a movie-like show."
The creekside fire pit with seating for four tends to have the same effect: more than a few couples have told us that sitting by the fire, listening to the creek in the background, felt like being inside a sound machine. The charcoal grill is nearby, so an easy dinner outside while the fire gets going is a natural move. For the truly ambitious in their pursuit of relaxing, there's a hammock by the creek perfect for soaking in the sounds and sites of nature.
✹ YOUR PERSONAL GUIDE TO THE SMOKIES ✹
We provide every guest with a detailed digital guide that covers the cabin, the surrounding area, curated restaurant picks, and hiking trails for every skill level. Guests have called it the most user-friendly guide they have ever received from a host, and many tell us they referenced it all week. It's the kind of local knowledge that makes a trip feel effortless rather than researched.

✹ TRAVELING WITH ANOTHER COUPLE? ✹

✴✴✴ A FEW HOUSE NOTES ✴✴✴
Hen is owner-managed by our family, not a large management company. We know every inch of this cabin and genuinely care that your stay feels effortless from the moment you book to the moment you reluctantly head home.
A note on arrival: the driveway is steep and winding, as mountain roads tend to be. We recommend arriving during daylight on your first visit and provide a video walkthrough of the approach for anyone who wants it. If you'd like a friendly voice to help guide you in, we are always happy to take a call.
We do require a signed rental agreement to fully confirm your booking, which includes a quick identity verification. Exterior security cameras are in place for guest and property safety. There are no cameras inside the property, full stop. We welcome guests 21 and older, or those traveling with family. Noise monitoring may also be present to help keep things neighborly.

Pigeon Forge, Tennessee was founded in the late 1700s and officially settled in 1830 when Isaac Love established an iron forge here. That iron forge helped to establish the name for the town now known as Pigeon Forge. Love’s son, William, also built a tub mill ten years later. That mill is now a National Historic Site called the Old Mill.
Pigeon Forge, TN remained a small community until the Great Smoky Mountains National Park was established on September 2, 1940 by Franklin Delano Roosevelt. The largest growth of the area came in 1982 when tourism began to really take hold and continued to make Pigeon Forge Tennessee the popular destination it is now.
The scenic Great Smoky Mountains, friendly people, down home hospitality and dining, patriotism, and a nostalgic air of yesteryear’s simpler times and family values truly make Pigeon Forge, TN the “All American Get-Away” for over 60 percent of the U.S. population within a day’s drive.
At Fox and Hen Bluff Creek you’re only minutes away from all the Great Smoky Mountains have to offer. You'll want a car to explore and typically won't need any special vehicles as our winters are often moderate.
