The perfect spot for exploring Austin, we are located only a few miles from campus and downtown in one direction and the Domain/Austin FC stadium in the other. Alternatively, you can walk a block to the 1950s shopping center for the best pizza in town at Little Deli or head the other way for a drink at Lala's. If you wish to stay in, the apartment has a bedroom with king-size bed, living room with projector, kitchenette, laundry, and WiFi. No check-out chores here - we take care of everything!

The apartment is over the detached garage behind our house. It was built primarily for our parents and friends to stay for visits, but when they're not around, we love to host new people! At around 425 square feet, with a living area and separate bedroom, it is very comfortable for two people to stay. There is also a full-size Murphy bed in the living room that is perfect for an extra person.

The apartment has a projector in the living room for TV and movies and a TV in the bedroom, as well. Both have access to our Netflix and Hulu accounts. The bedroom has plentiful storage and a balcony perfect for sipping your morning coffee. The kitchenette does not have a stove, but does have everything you need for coffee, a light breakfast or snacks, and drinks. The bathroom has a walk-in shower and plentiful towels. We provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a hair dryer. The washer and dryer in the hallway are also available for your use.

The apartment is completely separate from our home, with it's own HVAC system, but my office is across an outdoor landing and shares a wall. Between 8-3 on weekdays, you may hear me talking quietly.

For your comfort, we are a low fragrance home. We do not EVER use:

- Plug in air fresheners such as Glade / Airwick brands

- Scented Candles

- Diffuser reeds in fragrant oils

- Febreeze products

- Room sprays

- Scented paper products or garbage bin liners

- Scented laundry detergent

- Fabric softeners (for laundry)

- Additional scented products add to the clothes drying cycles

If you are sensitive to fragrance, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.

You'll have the entire apartment to yourself but may see us heading to or from our offices or back porch. If you have a car, there is plentiful street parking.

We live on the property, so are available to answer any questions but completely respect your privacy. We’re here if you need us, but strive to never be intrusive.

Crestview is a truly "Austin-y" neighborhood, full of cottages and bungalows, along with an increasing number of new homes. You'll see creative landscaping and yard art, and there are always people out walking dogs or kids. Our home is two blocks from a mid-century shopping center, with a small grocery store, barber, vintage shop, and a pizza place/deli, which doubles as a neighborhood gathering place.

From Crestview, it is easy to get downtown (6 miles), to the Domain (4.8 miles), or to the University of Texas campus (5 miles) via two rapid buses, each of which is only a few blocks away. The Capital Metro rail - also a few blocks away - can take you to downtown near the Austin Conference Center, where you will have access to 6th Street and/or a walk/run around Lady Bird Town Lake. If you drive, we have plentiful street parking.

We have both a dog (a shih tzu) and a 12-year-old boy. You may see Worf (the dog) chasing squirrels in the backyard or greeting you at the gate. He won't try to run away when you open the gate, but he will try to move into the apartment with you! You may also see Asher (the kiddo) and his friends in his tree house or running around the yard. No need to let either one into your living space, but please be tolerant of them while they're in the yard, and keep the gate closed so they stay that way!

For your safety and ours, we have a security camera that records the steps up to the apartment. Unregistered guests are not permitted on the property without prior approval. This property is also non-smoking, drug-free and weapon-free. If you do choose to disable the camera, smoke, partake in illegal substances, or bring a firearm, your reservation will be canceled immediately, with no refund.

This should go without saying, but we welcome guests of all abilities (as long as we are able to provide necessary accommodations), ethnicities, nationalities, religious beliefs or non-beliefs, sexual orientations, gender identities and ages.

Children and infants do count as guests.
