I have problems connecting my domain to my new Houfy website

This article covers the CLASSIC Houfy website builder. If your site was made with the AI website builder, do not use these records - open your site’s Domains page and use the records shown there.

The simplest route: open your website, go to Domains in the left menu, and copy the exact records shown for your domain. The page lists the required IP and, for a root domain, the required CNAME, and it verifies them for you.

If you are entering them by hand

Root domain (example.com)

• A record on @ pointing to 52.38.84.108 or 16.144.208.65. Either is correct - if your domain already resolves to one of these two, it is set up properly and you should not change it.

• CNAME on www resolving to example.com.

Subdomain (stay.example.com)

• A record only, pointing to 52.38.84.108 or 16.144.208.65. No CNAME is needed.

Replace any existing A or AAAA record on the name you are pointing - do not add a second one alongside it.

If you see "Failed to fetch"

Some hosts get Failed to fetch when they try to connect a domain. On its own that message does not tell you your DNS records are wrong — hosts have seen it with records that were already correct.

Worth doing before anything else: reload the Domains page and press verify again, since the check can fail on a first attempt. If your records were only just added or changed, give them time to propagate — that can take up to 48 hours — and try again rather than editing them further.

If it keeps coming back, do not keep changing your DNS. Write to us at info@houfy.com with the domain name and whether it is a root domain or a subdomain, and we will look at it from our side.
