Who this is for
Hosts who want to send a personalized offer or adjust pricing for a guest on Houfy.
Before you start
- Make sure your listing is active on Houfy.
- You’ll need your guest’s name and email address to send the quote.
Steps
Edit Rates or Update an Existing Quote
If you’ve already created a quote and need to change pricing or details:
- Log in to your Houfy account.
- Click your profile photo (top-right).
- Select Reservations → Quotes.
- Find the quote you want to modify.
- Click View Quote.
- Scroll to Reservation Details.
- Click Change Reservation.
- Update pricing, dates, discounts, or fees.
- Click Send Request.
- Re-send the quote to your guest if needed.
To Send a New Qoute:
- Go to the Plus (+) menu at the top of your Houfy page.
- Click Quote to create a new quote.
- Select the property and the dates you want to include in the quote.
- Click Edit to make changes.
- You can update prices, discounts, fees, taxes, or the security deposit.
- Example: add a 25% discount or special offer, or include a cleaning fee.
5. Choose whether to block the dates:
- Tentative Booking — temporarily holds the dates (only on Houfy’s calendar).
- Confirmed Booking — blocks the dates everywhere (including connected calendars).
6. Review your total amount to make sure it’s correct.
7. Scroll down to Guest Details and enter:
- First name
- Last name
- Email address
- A message to the guest booking (for example: “Here’s your quote for the week of November 1.”)
8. Under Quote Validity, choose how long the quote should stay active (e.g., 1 day, 1 week, or always valid).
9. Click Create a quote to send it to your guest.
Your guest will receive an email with the full quote and booking details.
Troubleshooting
- Can’t find the quote? Go to Menu → Reservations → Quotes to see all quotes you’ve created.
- Need to change the quote after sending it? Open the quote, click Edit, adjust the details, and send again.
- Guest didn’t receive the quote? Ask them to check their spam or junk folder.
FAQs
Can I resend a quote?
Yes. Open the quote and click Resend to email it again.
Do quotes expire?
No. However, you can delete a quote at any time if it’s no longer valid.
Will my dates be blocked automatically?
Only if you choose Confirmed Booking. Tentative quotes do not block external calendars.
