Patty’s Casitas is your best choice if you are planning to visit Panama. I stayed in the studio condo in the Casco Viejo from 22nd of September to the 24th, spent four days in Boquete and then returned to el studio from 28th until 1st October. I do have a lot of memories in El Casco Viejo, I am from here. I moved to this area in 1968, attended Simon Bolivar elementary school from 1971 until 1978, first communion in La Catedral in 1975, confirmation in La Merced in 1987 and wedding in La Merced in 2004. I am now an US Army servicemember retiree (after 26 years) and travel to Panama every six months to visit my mother who still lives in El Casco Viejo. Patty and Rudy are the people you want to talk if you are planning a trip to Panama and El Casco Viejo. They are great host and people that would do the ultimate to make your stay in Panama a nice memory. The studio room is so comfortable, clean and quiet that will make you believe you are by yourself in this building. El Casco Viejo is loud per nature because of all the new remodeling, restaurants, cars and people but the studio room is located in the back of the building and you will not hear anything. Rudy and Patty accommodated me between their busy schedule to ensure that I had no concerns with the room or my stay in my country. From the studio, I walked all over El Casco Viejo with my mother and it is amazing how it has changed from a quiet place back in the days to one of most visited places in Panama. I recommend Patty’s Casitas to anyone. In conclusion, everything is perfect in this place, A great place to stay!!! Kenny Rivera US Army (Ret) PS. I forgot the delicious coffee that you could make in the studio to start the day with smile and energy.

Led Zeppelin may have got there first with this title (in 1971) but it well describes the Loft where we stayed for a week in Casca Viejo, Panama City. And the first line of the lyrics is uncannily relevant: "There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold. And she's buying a stairway to heaven." That lady is Patty. Right from our first enquiry for our Anniversary holiday, Patty was responsive to all our questions and advised us well on all aspects of our stay, including when we were let down by our next accommodation in Farallon. We cannot fault her, even though some may be a little wary of paying upfront by international bank transfer - the excellent reviews for her business reassured us that we had nothing to worry about. We had the top floor Loft accessed by several flights of long stairs. Even though one of us suffers a bad back, the stairs were manageable. Rudy was extremely helpful in taking our heavy suitcases up and down - he made it easy for us as we are getting on in years. Inside the one bedroom loft, we were impressed by the layout (two bathrooms, one en suite and one serving the living space and kitchen-diner), the decor including the lovely and huge replica clock from Kensington Station in London, and the amenities. In this last category, Patty gave us a mobile phone with local Sim to use to contact her if necessary, as well as free use for local calls on a landline. We were so pleased that the Loft is in the old town, now being lovingly restored to its former glory. The view from our balcony was so relaxing; and is a lovely place for breakfast. The sleeping area is on an upper mezzanine floor - you have to have a head for heights. We could go on. We thoroughly recommend Patty's Casitas, especially if, like us, you do not like modern hotels or even modern cities.

Although this vacation was not our first outside the USA, it was our first time in Panama and our first time using VRBO. Many thanks must go to my wife for finding Patty's Casitas among the hundreds of choices that a vacationer can discover on-line. I am usually not ( ok never) the vacation planner for our trips which I guess is why I am writing this review. I have read a few of the reviews on here and wholeheartedly agree that Patty's Condo property was one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. While there is great appeal for staying in the ritzy hotels for the glamorous nightlife, the Condo was a breath of fresh air far enough away from the "maddening" crowd, but a short taxi ride from anywhere you wanted to go. As mentioned in other reviews our condo was equipped with everything a person needed for a most pleasant stay. House rules are posted so there are no misunderstandings and a binder with answers for almost all your questions that you may have during your stay. Our trip to Panama got off to a rough start by being 8 hours late due to airline so instead of arriving in midafternoon, we arrived after 10 p.m. and closer to 11:30 p.m. before arriving at the condo. Even though the hour was late Patty's Husband, Rudy, was there at the condo waiting to check us in and make us feel right at home. He thoroughly showed us the condo and how to operate the AC, and TVs and kitchen appliances. Both Patty and Rudy were always available via phone if we needed information about shopping or dining or touring as Rudy is also a licensed Tour Guide and as far as my wife and I are concerned, the best tour guide we have ever encountered anywhere. Both TGI Fridays and the Balboa Yacht Club were within walking distance from the condo and the food was great. Although we generally like to go to different places each year, we have already decided that we are going back to Panama and when we do our first stop will be with Patty and Rudy.

From the easy checkin to the beach views from the balcony it was a special treat to stay here. Carts are available to help with luggage. Parking was easy and came with the rental. I spent all of my time going from the beautiful beach to one of the pools to relaxing in the condo. Restaurant is on site also. All needs were met in the kitchen. The bed was very comfortable. Would definitely visit again
