There are plenty of places to hike when staying at A Touch of Luxury Cabin; a variety of trails suit all fitness levels. Please comment about your experience, and share any information that you think other guests will find helpful.
Chimney Rock State Park is a 6.5 mile drive from the cabin. This is a "must see" if you have never been. Be sure to walk the Hickory Nut Trail, which will lead you to the 404 foot waterfall that is in the final scenes of the Last of the Mohicans movie. There are plenty of trails to get in a nice workout; hike Exclamation Point to reach the highest peak on Chimney Rock. You can download the trail map from their website if you like to plan ahead.

The park offers the first opportunity for a mountain experience that will challenge your fitness and offer great views and varied terrain. This trail is the first loop at Buffalo Creek Park and provides a strong shot of climbing without harsh technical difficulty. It's smooth and flowing and popular with hikers and trail runners.
It is a 23-acre community park in the center of town at the western end of Lake Lure. The park is conveniently located next to the Municipal Center.
Unlike the vista views found throughout Morse Park, this park offers a more intimate exchange with nature through a woodland hike experience. It is an ideal spot for bird enthusiasts, couples and pet owners.
