Spindale, NC is between Rutherfordton and Forest City.  The three cities are called the Tri-City area.  Spindale is about 25 minutes from Lake Lure. Below are the eateries in Spindale.

Even if no competitions are scheduled during your stay, I still suggest stopping by to visit; the facility has onsite shopping and restaurants. Keep in mind, on Mondays and Tuesdays
