• FAVORITE STEAK HOUSE AND BAR: The Grizzly Bar and Grill is 6 miles up the highway on 287 towards Ennis. They serve great steaks (photo above), seafood, hamburgers and nightly specials. They open at 4pm daily and are closed on Tuesdays. Best to make reservations or you may not be able to be seated. Consistently good food and drinks.
  • FAVORITE PIZZA: Wild West Pizza and Saloon in West Yellowstone is hands down the best. They also have fantastic lasagna and the macaroni and cheese is out of this world! The bar side of the restaurant has pool tables. Gets very busy and they do not take reservations. Take out available, but no delivery.
  • BEST BREAKFAST: The Running Bear Pancake House in West Yellowstone. Family owned and run, the best breakfast around! They get very busy, so try to arrive before 9am.
  • CLOSEST BREAKFAST: Campfire Lodge is on highway 287 between Quake Lake and Hebgen Dam. It's about 8 miles away towards West Yellowstone. It's good, basic diner style food.
  • BEST BURGER: Slippery Otter Pub and Eatery in West Yellowstone. They have an amazing Black Angus burger and delicious sweet potato fries (as a substitute for regular fries).
  • BEST MEXICAN: Las Palmitas "Taco Bus"...just good street food!
  • CHINESE FOOD: None, we do not recommend any of the local places.
  • COFFEE and ICE CREAM: Espresso West in West Yellowstone, one block from the park entrance. It's a log kiosk that makes better specialty coffees than "you know who"! Homemade baked goods, banana bread and huckleberry bars are the best! Good ice cream and shakes.
  • AMERICAN STYLE FOOD: Buffalo Bar in West Yellowstone is good too. They have a huge menu. It is a bar so kids not allowed. It's very clean but can be loud inside. Nice people.
