Does the host receive a confirmation that the guest paid?
Yes, automatically. Houfy emails you and your guest when the booking is confirmed and again on every payment, each message carrying the amount, the stay details and a link back to the reservation.

Yes. Houfy emails both of you, and you do not have to do anything to switch it on.
When the booking is confirmed
If you accept a booking request yourself, you receive Reservation confirmed - <guest name> arrives <date> and your guest receives Your trip to <city> is confirmed for dates <dates>.
If the listing has Instant Book turned on there is no accept step - the guest's card is charged and both emails go out immediately. The host email itemises the stay - property, check-in and checkout, guest count, reservation code - and your payout breakdown, with a View Itinerary link and a button to message the guest.
If you marked the booking as confirmed yourself, the same two emails go out with slightly different wording: Reservation is marked as confirmed - <guest name> arrives <date>, and Your trip to <city> is marked as confirmed for dates <dates>.
When the guest pays again
Every further payment - the balance, a scheduled payment, a payment request you sent - emails you Payment received - <guest name> paid <amount> and emails your guest Payment confirmation - You paid <amount>. Both carry the amount and a View Reservation button. Each one also itemises the stay: the property, check-in and checkout dates, guest count, total, reservation code and the part-amount just paid.
