Customizing your rental agreement on Houfy is simple and allows you to tailor the terms to suit your property’s needs. Follow these steps to edit, remove, or reorder sections in your rental agreement:
Editing a Rental Agreement Section
Log in to your Houfy account > Click plus -> Rental agreement
Locate the rental agreement you wish to edit.
Click on the specific section you wish to modify. This will open the content for editing.
Make the necessary changes to the text, ensuring all terms are clear and accurate. The builder has two panes: down the left is the list of sections - Header text, Text, Listing image, Listing name and so on - each with a drag handle, and on the right is a live preview of the agreement. Preview agreement at the top of the left pane shows the whole document as your guest will see it. Selecting a section opens its settings: Header text, the section's Text with bold, italic, underline and strikethrough controls, Add numbering, Text align and Text position. The preview fills in merge fields such as {{checkin_date}}, {{checkout_date}}, {{nights_text}} and {{guests_text}} from the booking when the agreement is sent.
To edit the content of the rental agreement, click on a section to view and edit its content.
Removing a Section
Find the section you want to remove.
Click the Remove Section button at the bottom of the left menu
Confirm the removal when prompted. Note that removed sections cannot be undone, so ensure you no longer need the section before deleting. The red Remove section button sits at the very bottom of that section's settings panel in the left pane, below Text position.
Reordering Sections
In the rental agreement settings, locate the section you want to move.
Click and hold the handle next to the section.
Drag the section to your desired position in the agreement.
Release the handle to set the new order. The new order is saved as soon as you drop the section; there is no separate save step.
Tips for Managing Your Rental Agreement
Keep it clear: Ensure the agreement is easy to understand for guests.
Review regularly: Update terms as needed to reflect changes in your property or policies.
Check as you go: the right-hand pane is a live preview, and Preview agreement at the top of the left pane shows the whole document as your guest will see it. Your edits save themselves - there is no Save button.
