Dauphin Island vacation rentals

This condo was in a cool little complex that was very clean and very peaceful. Even during peak times one of the pools was empty or close to it. The staff were nice and all the people there pretty laid back. The walk was a little bit further than "right on the beach" as we usually do but only but a minute or two. The view was on the way and definitely not long enough to downgrade the experience. Just keep that in mind if you're carrying a bunch of stuff. The beach was very spacious and unlike Destin, Panama City, Ormand, or Gulf Shores you could easily get chairs right on the beach with no one within 10 feet of you. We did have problems with the rental chairs company as they messed up our week long order almost every day. They also setup late but did pick up late too. The condo itself was very clean. No sand, mold, bugs, or gross things encountered. The condo is only 1 1/2 bath just to make sure people don't think it is two full baths. It was bigger than expected but still a one family condo with everything you need to get started relaxin' on the beach.

While the temperatures were only in the upper 60’s during our mid-November week, the heated pool was fantastic and we enjoyed it each day. Sonny Side is a very nice 4-bedroom home with a private pool and beautiful views of both sunrise and sunset over the Gulf. We particularly enjoyed spotting dolphins from the deck — a number of them were frolicking, generally around sunrise through mid morning. We’ve stayed at a number of rental homes throughout the country — Sonny Side ranks right at the top!

Our 3 families had a blast here! There was lots of things to do for all ages. Plenty of space to gather for eating and playing and separated enough for naps that the little ones needed from all the fun. Loved the sliding doors on a couple of the bedrooms that allowed some of us to get up early and workout on the deck and take a walk to the beach for sunrises. The house is better than the pictures can capture. The host did a fantastic job communicating all that we would need to know. Thankful for the opportunity to make these lasting family memories at Quarter Deck.

This property was so close to the water and in the beautiful West End area. House had many updates and lots of "foot washing" stations to avoid so much tracking in of the sand. Love the big decks and there were lots of seating areas. Would definitely return!

If you are looking for a place to spend time with your children, extended family members, friends, or new acquaintances; "Point Breeze" is the perfect House. There are so many amenities I will list just a few to make awesome memories: The location of Point Breeze is perfect for any type of activities you may want to do. The sunrises are great from the outdoor TV Pit, a very comfortable outdoor living space and also great for sleeping outside. The west side of the deck has a perfect area for Dinners or snacks and watching the sunset everyday. The South deck has a full view of the Gulf and the North deck has a wonderful view of the Sound. All the decks have a lot of comfortable seating and lounge chairs. I cannot say enough about the inside of the house. Everything is clean, with all kinds of seating for a large family, or just a couple. The kitchen is well stocked for any type of cooking in doors or outside. There are 2 charcoal grills furnished. There are even beach towels, beach toys, boogie boards, 2 hammocks, swings, and khakis. This house is convenient to all the shops on the island and restaurants. We fished from the dock every night and caught a lot of great fish. Awesome House. I could go on and on because we stayed there 3 weeks and i would go back tomorrow.

Never been to DI before. Loved our stay, but wish I knew a few things before we booked. First of all, our condo was possibly one of the nicest we've ever stayed in. So there's that. 1) view faces the gulf. The horizon is dotted with oil rigs and platforms. Constant freight traffic to them. And at night they are all lit up. No noise. But always there. 2) water is NOT crystal blue clear and never will be. It's due to the location of surrounding waterways. Its VERY clean. But not clear. 3) no place to walk to to get beer and ice. Got to drive. Things like deli meats, eggs and such are like a 15 minute drive. 4) food options are few. And decent at best. Islanders and The Carraige were our favorites. 5) the walk to the beach is a trek. Like for real a quarter mile-ish and we were ON the water. 6) between the gulf and condo are overflow ponds from rain and the ocean. You get to walk through these to get to the beach. Most are greenish standing water. And the mosquitos at night are insane. 6) animal and birdlife were abundant and amazing to see. Plenty of dolphin sightings. All kinds of birds and crabs. 7) we hit the beach early and were the only ones within earshot until lunch most days. 8) pools were clean and quiet, we were often the only ones there. No music. No partying. By the end of the trip we settled in and accepted the minor drawbacks as part of the location's charm. The appeal of the quiet, peaceful atmosphere overshadowed all of them. No traffic. No noise pollution. But we just didn't know before we went. It's not ideal for everybody. Most want to be in a happening place and wait hours for a table in overpriced chain restaurants. And battle for a spot on a crowded beach. That is not a relaxing way for us to spend our time or money on our vacation. We found little gems during our stay and really enjoyed our time there.

The property was BEAUTIFUL!!! We thoroughly enjoyed it !!! ESPECIALLY loved that ALL 4 rooms had their own bathroom…that was a PLUS!! The only things I would have liked to see is the living area and back door access with window and door coverings with the option for them to be open if you like for them to be. It was hard sitting in the living area, especially at night, knowing that anyone could walk up and look in on you. That was uncomfortable to say the least. You also might want to consider all of the bedrooms, having accessible closets with hangers. It was hard going in out of our luggage. It would be great if you provide iron/ironing board and hangers. These things would definitely make for a better stay. But other than those things, overall it was a great stay and we are already planning to return!!!

We stayed at the Dauphin Pod for a week and had such a great experience. The place was very clean and tidy. We could tell they paid attention to every detail. Even down to dog treats and a little dog towel for the pup! They had everything there you’d need: coffee, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, laundry detergent, charging station, map of the island, little stickers for the Dauphin Pod, and even a golf cart you could rent for a very reasonable charge. I loved the outdoor area as well! Everything was so pretty. I would recommend this vacation rental to anyone.
