Ericeira, "the surf capital of Portugal", offers a great variety of waves, situated in just a few kilometres of coast. In 2011, Ericeira was chosen to be one of the four fist World Surfing Reserves, together with Malibu and Santa Cruz in California and Manly Beach in Australia. At the present moment there are 11 World Surfing Reserves, the first and only one in Europe being Ericeira!
