Is uw Houfy-vermelding geverifieerd?

To be verified on Houfy you need three things:

  1. A government-issued ID, uploaded to your listing.

  2. Proof that you control the property - a recent utility bill for it, an insurance statement or a copy of the deed. Any of the three is fine.

  3. Payment of the one-time host verification fee of $5.99. You pay it once and it covers every listing on your account, and it is waived if you are on a Lite or Premium plan, have paid it before, or your profile is already verified.

Listing as a management company rather than as the owner: Open Edit listing > Owner details > Property managed by and choose Property Manager. On a property-manager listing the second document is not required - your government ID is enough, and the Upload Utility bill box changes from Required to Optional. Only choose it if it accurately describes how you hold the property.

Some listings are also asked for a photo of you at the property's main entrance. If yours is, the upload box will appear alongside the others.

Where to upload them

Go to Edit listing > Verifications on the listing you want verified. The upload boxes are labelled Government issued ID, Upload Utility bill and, when it applies, Selfie with property's main entrance.

Upload your deed or insurance statement under Upload Utility bill - it is the same box, whichever document you have.

If you cannot find Verifications in the listing editor menu, it is because your listing is already verified - the menu item is only shown while there is something left to do.

Adding your Airbnb or VRBO link

On the same page, open the Verification links section, press Add a new Link, choose the site from the Choose a site dropdown and paste the address into the Url: box. We do not show these links on your listing; they are used only to verify you.

You can add Airbnb, VRBO, Homeaway, Tripadvisor, Flipkey and Ownersdirect links, and you can add your own website, your management company's website, or a Facebook or other page where your name matches.

We cannot use Houfy links, Airbnb Experiences links, or links to a number of small rental directories - if a link is not accepted you will be told so when you save it, and you can add a different one.

New York City listings do not have a links section. Add your city registration number instead, in the City Permit Number/City Registration ID (If required) field on the same page.

Why it is worth doing

An unverified listing does not appear in Houfy search results at all. Until it is verified, guests browsing Houfy cannot find it.

How long it takes

Once your listing is 100% complete, your documents are uploaded and the fee is paid or waived, pressing Submit for verification verifies your listing straight away in almost every case.

If you think you should have been verified and were not, email us at info@houfy.com with your listing number. We may need something further, such as your most recent utility bill.
