Summer is a busy time in Hokitika. From Christmas parades to the Christmas at the Beach celebration there is something for all the family over the holiday period.
Come along to the historic Regent Theatre on Weld St and hear local artist perform .Tickets are only $10 and go towards the new Westland Sports Hub build.
After the concert gather at the Hokitika I-site to watch the Light The Tree ceremony. The huge Hokitika community Christmas lights will be switched on for the 1st time. Fun for the whole family.

The Hokitika Christmas Parade will now be held in the evening to make the most of the new Christmas lights and provide a bit of atmosphere and excitement for the young ones.
This annual event is sponsored by the local Lions Club and various local businesses. There are always plenty of amazing floats and vintage vehicles as well as local children's groups.
Of course a visit from Santa too!
