Modern hilltop townhouse on Watauga Lake — panoramic lake and mountain views from the deck, indoor jet tub, gas fire pit on the back porch, symmetric 300/300 fiber WiFi. Two ensuites plus a half-bath, sleeps six. Karen and Bill (Florida transplants) host from up the road and answer within an hour. Five minutes to the public boat launch, fifteen to the Appalachian Trail crossing at Watauga Dam. Not lakefront — the view is from the hilltop. Driveway is steep; AWD recommended Dec–Feb.
The space
Modern hilltop townhouse, fully renovated across two stories. Open-concept first floor with a full kitchen, dining, living area with a gas fireplace, and a half-bath. Two sliding doors open to the back porch, where you can take in the lake and mountain views while grilling, dining, or sitting by the gas fire pit.
The second floor has two bedrooms with ensuites and a laundry area. The king bedroom's ensuite has a walk-in shower, dual sinks, and a makeup vanity. The queen bedroom has a queen bed plus a trundle that sleeps two more, a private balcony over the lake, and an ensuite with a jet tub. A sofa bed in the living area sleeps two — six total.
The neighborhood
Watauga Lake is a 6,430-acre TVA reservoir wrapped on three sides by the Cherokee National Forest. The townhouse is on the upper-lake side, between Butler and the Watauga Dam. Five minutes downhill puts you at the public boat launch at Watauga Lake Marina. Ten minutes east is Watauga Lake Winery, with a second winery (Villa Nove) a few minutes past that. The Appalachian Trail crosses the top of the Watauga Dam fifteen minutes from the door — one of the most photographed AT day hikes in the south. Bristol Motor Speedway is about an hour for race weekends. Tri-Cities Airport (TRI) is 35 minutes.

The driveway is steep. Paved and maintained, but a real grade — AWD or 4WD is strongly recommended from December through February.
Cell service is limited. Verizon is the most usable carrier. WiFi calling handles voice calls and texts once you're inside the house; turn it on in your phone settings before you arrive.
It's a townhouse, not a detached cabin — quiet, but you do share walls with neighbors.
