We are located 8 miles up the beach from the end of highway 12 and ACCESSIBLE ONLY BY 4WD/AWD. Come experience Life On The Island. Carova Beach is a place where everyone knows each other and lives by the changing tides. Watch the Corolla Wild Horses stroll along the shore and munch on sea oats among the sand dunes. Carova brings a certain" peace" and "awe" with it's raw beauty, horses, dolphins and sometimes, if you are lucky, whales. Strolling along the beach to find sand dollars and whelks left from the changing tides is another favorite pass time here on the beach. Be sure to take a dip in that beautiful green Carolina Sea where any worries and stress you may have brought with you are completely washed away. Rise early one morning to watch the sunrise over the ocean, enjoy the brilliant red sunsets over the sound, then relax on the upper deck at night and look up to see the beautiful star filled Carolina night sky with the Milky Way directly over 'Meant To Be'. And as you lay your head on the pillow at the day's end, let the ocean sing you to sleep. Come experience all these things that are unique only to the Northern Beaches of the Outer Banks.

You'll also love all that 'Meant To Be' has to offer you while on your vacation. We are truly your "home away from home". Ocean views from the upper deck and the ship's watch. The great room and master bedrooms open to wrap around decking. The decks host plenty of seating, outdoor table and chairs, swings and a hammock. Meant To Be has new mattresses and offers bed linens and bath towels. There is a large kitchen with two dishwashers, stainless steel appliances, fully stocked with extra dishes, pots and pans and crab/seafood pots. Enjoy our lovely screened in porch with plenty of seating area for your morning coffee. There are smart tv's, direct tv and Wi-Fi for your streaming pleasures and work needs while on vacation. Have fun in the game room watching movies, playing pool or a card game at our card table. You will find plenty of family friendly games and puzzles stocked for your use. There is also a kitchenette located in the game room with a full size refrigerator with an ice maker and sink and counter space. We have 2 park grills located just outside of the game room on the bottom floor for all of your grilling needs. Hop in the kayak or canoe and paddle through the canals. Enjoy our large sized inground pool with plenty of room for swimming and plenty of lounge chairs for soaking up the sun, as well as a bar area. Then relax in the hot tub in the evening. Whether you are watching a movie together, playing a game or looking for a quiet area to sneak away to and read a good book, there is plenty of space for all of your vacation needs. Bill and Melissa built and have self managed 'Meant To Be' for 23 of our 24 rental seasons. We have found that having direct communication with our guests makes the booking process easier and more pleasurable. We have a high guest retention, many who have been coming for up to 20 years.

After you've spent the day playing in the ocean and soaking up the sun on the beach , take a stroll along False Cape State Park to shell for sand dollars and whelks and enjoy the natural beauty of the undisturbed beaches. Try your luck at surf fishing and crabbing or enjoy just sitting and watching the pelicans fish. There is plenty of shopping in Corolla, Timbuck II and the town of Duck. Enjoy one of the many fine restaurants in town or cook your own delicious dinner or sauté fresh caught fish on the grill. Climb the Currituck Light House. Take a drive South on Highway 12 to Hatteras Island and Hatteras Lighthouse and enjoy the over 70 miles of undeveloped National Seashore. Continue south and ride the ferry to Ocracoke Island. Visit Roanoke Island and the North Carolina Aquarium. Take a chartered fishing trip from Oregon Inlet, known for some of the best fishing along the Atlantic Coastline. Play a round of golf at the Currituck Club, or just relax on the beach or by the poolside and soak up the day. Don't forget to watch the absolutely beautiful sunset over the sound in the evenings.
