Stretch out in a wonderfully spacious room in our 17th-century family villa in historic Sintra center. An enormous 220 × 220 cm bed with a luxurious mattress bought in London, a double sofa bed and two little private balconies overlooking gardens and mountains make Room 4 a special place to relax and feel like royality. The compact full bathroom is entirely private, and attached to the bedroom. Enjoy the villa’s shared snooker room, music room, library and patio too.

Room 4 is a large private bedroom for up to four guests. Its main bed measures 220 × 220 cm, with a mattress bought in London. There is also a double sofa bed and two small private balconies with views towards the gardens and mountains.

The attached bathroom is compact and private, with a bathtub and bidet. In the room you have a mini fridge, microwave, kettle, coffee machine, plates, glasses and other utensils, with complimentary coffee, tea and sugar.

The bedroom, balconies and bathroom are private. The main villa’s kitchen, snooker room, music room with piano, guitar and violin, library, fireplace lounge, dining room, veranda and patio with stone barbecue are shared with the family and other guests. You may use the main kitchen’s hob and oven; please leave it clean and use your own mini fridge for food.

Shared access to the villa’s kitchen with hob and oven, snooker room, music room, library, lounge, dining room, veranda, patio and stone barbecue. Other bedrooms and the family’s private rooms are not included.

Enjoy the character of Sintra’s historic centre, with old lanes, traditional cafés and green hills around you. Discover the National Palace of Sintra and Quinta da Regaleira, then return to the villa to relax with garden and mountain views from your two little balconies. Sintra is hilly, so expect slopes and steps while exploring on foot.

The historic centre is best explored on foot. For attractions farther uphill, including Pena Palace and the Moorish Castle, plan transport and admission ahead. The railway connects Sintra with Lisbon; local buses and taxis are other options. Driving and parking in the old town can be difficult, so read the arrival and parking instructions before travelling.

Velvet Sintra is the family home of Alex and his mum, not a hotel. There is no staffed reception; remote support is available.

Self check-in starts at 15:00, including late arrivals. Check-out is by 12:00 noon. Your Room 4 access instructions are sent before your stay. Quiet hours are 23:00–07:00. Please respect other guests and fire restrictions when using outdoor facilities.

Breakfast is an optional paid service, €12.50 per person, with your choice of serving time from 07:00 to 11:00. Food and breakfast require at least 24 hours’ notice. Homemade meals, Portuguese drinks and laundry are available separately.

A €25 cleaning fee applies once per stay. If you are travelling with pets, please let us know: the pet fee is €35 total per stay, regardless of the number of pets or nights. Applicable tourist tax is separate.
