Stay in a converted 17th-century chapel in historic Sintra, with free parking (tight access). Enjoy two comfortable bedrooms, a Smeg kitchen, smart TVs and voice-controlled lights and music. You are also welcome in the shared areas of our family's little Palace next door: snooker, piano, library, patio and barbecue. Breakfast, Portuguese dinners and drinks can be delivered for an extra charge. Order breakfast at least 24 hours in advance.
YOUR PRIVATE CHAPEL
A converted 17th-century chapel, now a private home for up to four guests. There are two bedrooms: one with a king bed and one with a queen bed, both with smart TVs. You also have a living and dining area, an equipped Smeg kitchen and a bathroom with a walk-in shower.
A SMART HOME WITH CHARACTER
Google Mini speakers and Philips Hue lighting are installed throughout the home. Use your voice to change light colours, play music, ask about Sintra or the weather, or set an alarm. Prefer a switch? Press the Philips smart switches to cycle through lighting scenes I have created for each room.
YOUR OUTDOOR CORNER
At the Chapel entrance, you have your own small outdoor seating area with a table for four and a barbecue.
A FAMILY WELCOME NEXT DOOR
My mum and I live in our family's little palace next door, around 10–15 seconds away on foot. During your stay, you're welcome to enjoy its shared guest areas: play snooker or piano, browse the library, relax on the patio or use the barbecue. These areas are shared with our family and other guests; the Chapel itself is entirely private.
Our converted chapel is in the historic Santa Maria area of Sintra, close to Santa Maria Church. This is a place of old houses, winding streets and steep little paths, with the hills and historic sights that make Sintra so special.
You can explore the historic centre, stop for a coffee or a local pastry, and make time for Sintra’s palaces, gardens and walking routes. There is plenty to discover, but the terrain matters: a short distance on a map can involve a proper uphill walk.
The Chapel is a family-run home in a lived-in neighbourhood. We love sharing this part of Sintra with our guests, and my mum and I are happy to suggest places that suit your interests, whether you prefer history, a good meal or a slower day.
Bring comfortable shoes and a light extra layer, and leave some room in your plans to enjoy the town at your own pace.
You can reach Sintra from Lisbon by train, including services from Rossio station. From Sintra station, take a taxi to Rua Bernardim Ribeiro 16 if you have luggage or prefer to avoid an uphill walk.
Walking is a lovely way to explore the historic streets, but Sintra is hilly and some routes have steps or uneven paving. Choose your route according to your mobility and allow extra time.
For Pena Palace and the Moorish Castle, plan to use public transport, an authorised transport service or a suitable walking route. Private vehicles cannot drive up to these monuments. Check current access arrangements and, for Pena Palace, book the appropriate timed admission before setting out.
If you bring a car, I recommend leaving it parked while exploring the historic centre. The parking area by Santa Maria Church is my usual suggestion; our own space is also available to Chapel guests, although it is harder to manoeuvre into. Always follow local parking signs and restrictions.
My mum and I are happy to help you plan a route that suits your day.

Breakfast delivered to your door, our signature Velvet Sandwich, Portuguese dinners, homemade sangria, Portuguese wines and other drinks are available to order through your booking chat. The sandwich features Portuguese meats and cheeses, with a vegetarian option too; it can also be packed to take out. Message your host at any time to place an order. These are paid extras; we will confirm availability, prices and delivery times. Please order breakfast at least 24 hours in advance.
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
Enjoy self check-in from 15:00, including late arrivals. Before arrival, we send a step-by-step video and your private access code. There is no in-person check-in; help is available through your booking chat. Checkout is by 12:00. Earlier check-in or later checkout must be agreed with us in advance and may involve an additional charge.
PARKING AND ACCESS
Free parking is available to Chapel guests in our own parking space. Access is tight and requires careful manoeuvring; please contact us before arrival for directions and to check suitability for your vehicle. Nearby public parking is subject to availability and local restrictions.
The Chapel has steps at the entrance and inside. Sintra is hilly, with steep streets and uneven paving, so please consider this when planning your stay.
SHARED FIRE PIT NEXT DOOR
The fire pit is in the shared outdoor area of our family home next door, around 10–15 seconds away on foot. It is shared with our family and other guests and is not part of the Chapel's private outdoor area. Please check with us before lighting it and follow the house instructions. Access details are provided privately before arrival.
AIRPORT TRANSFERS
Airport transfers can be arranged with us in advance for an additional charge, subject to availability. They are not included in the accommodation price. Please contact us through your booking chat for a quote and confirmation.
OUR NEIGHBOURHOOD
This is a lived-in neighbourhood. Please respect quiet hours from 23:00 to 07:00, including in the shared areas of our family home. Smoking is permitted outside only.
