This home is located on a tropical island. You may encounter indigenous geckos, frogs, insects, and other living things. We do try our best to keep them outside in their own natural habitat. It is advisable to keep entryway doors closed. There is bug spray available under the kitchen sink in the event any unwelcomed guest has made its way into the home.

Guests have access to the entire home- except the locked owners closet in the hall- and the outdoor storage facility which is connected to the home by the outside. Guests who access these locked areas can be charged an inventory and missing item fee.

"Our Happy Place" is located mid-island - close to the "new" bridge.

The home is cetrally licated --- mid-island. OHP has ample driveway parking with plenty of shade. You can walk or bike to the beach.

***Please note:

Oak Island has a paid parking program that charges for the majority of public parking spaces along the beach from April 1 - September 30 between the hours of 9am-5pm. Paid parking "passes" are purchased at time of use through a mobile app. The Town of Oak Island public parking spaces are clearly marked and are generally located at public beach access points and town-managed areas. You can pay by downloading the Surfcast by Otto Connect app and/or by scanning the QR code on parking signage at the beach lots.

Guests wishing to avoid paid parking can do several things: visit on off season, go to the beach earlier or later in the day, walk (we providd a beach wagon, and the home is within walking distance), bike (OHP includes bikes and a cargo trailer.) *Guests may also use the "shuttle system" of using one designated driver to "dropoff" beach goers...and staying back and relaxing at the home, biking to the beach, or walking to the beach.

We HIGHLY recommend that all guests obtain TRIP INSURANCE for their own protection. We do not have any control over weather or things that may occur on your end that could impact your trip.
