Welcome to the Garden Wing at The Knickerbocker, a private, approximately 1,500 sq ft 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom guest wing occupying the entire bottom floor of a historic Tampa property in the heart of Hyde Park.
The Garden Wing was designed for travelers who want real space, separate bedrooms, and a shared living area, instead of being split across multiple hotel rooms or cramming a group into a single suite. Comfortably sleeping 9, with a maximum occupancy of 13, it works well for families, business travelers, convention groups, medical stay companions, and friends gathering for a concert or sports weekend downtown.
Each bedroom has its own character. The Premier Suite (approx. 270 sq ft) is the most premium room in the wing, with a king bed, a private en-suite bathroom, a 75" TV, and a 5.1 Q800 soundbar with rear speakers.
The Ember Room (approx. 220 sq ft) features a Wyoming king-size Murphy bed (two twin XL beds joined), a fireplace, a 75" TV, and a 5.1 Q800 soundbar, for a cozy retreat and an excellent second bedroom for another couple or pair.
The Watersong Room (approx. 180 sq ft) sleeps up to three with a queen Murphy bed and a twin XL Murphy bed, plus a 92" 4K projector setup and a 5.1 Q800 soundbar, ideal for guests who want a dedicated media setup for movie nights or game-day viewing.
The Oakview Room (approx. 150 sq ft) is the wing's quiet room, with a queen Murphy bed, a 65" TV, and a 5.1 Q800 soundbar — and with the Murphy bed folded up, the floor opens into a workspace or kids' room.
All four bedrooms include a frontlit makeup mirror, a full-length mirror, and an iron and ironing board, with 11-foot ceilings in most rooms and heritage-grade crown molding throughout.
The shared living room doubles as a home theater, with an 82" projector screen, a 4K projector, and a 7.1 Sony Bravia surround sound system, ideal for movie nights, sports, or watching the game as a group.
For groups that need dining or meeting space rather than a fourth sleeping room, the Ember, Watersong, or Oakview room can be configured before arrival as a dining or meeting setup (Watersong recommended), using folding chairs stored on-site.
Outside, guests have access to The Gardens, approximately 800 sq ft of outdoor living space, private to your group during your stay, featuring a 9-seat Bullfrog A9L hot tub, sized to match the Garden Wing's 9-guest comfortable capacity, a feature rarely found at this size in a Tampa rental, along with a rock garden, a 6-burner stainless Monument grill with backlit controls, a custom-built water fountain, a propane fire pit (for warmth only, no cooking or burning items on it), and an outdoor shower with warm water for rinsing off before and after hot tub use. A shared front porch with benches, chairs, and a swing offers another spot to unwind. Hot tub use is governed by posted house rules: no glass, food, drinks, or other additives in or around the hot tub, no rough play, children must be supervised at all times, and the cover must be closed after each use.
The kitchen includes a Waterdrop X12 reverse osmosis water system and dispenser, a garbage disposal, standard cookware and accessories, and a basic stock of spices, seasonings, and small appliances.
Throughout the wing, central air conditioning and heat keep the space comfortable year-round. Internet is 7.5 Gbps symmetrical fiber with Eero Max 7 mesh Wi-Fi (wireless only, no wired connections; device speeds depend on Wi-Fi), with capacity to spare for group streaming, video calls, and remote work. Laundry is included, with three washers and three dryers on-site, shared with the property's housekeeping operations. Parking is free, with two tandem off-street spaces and free on-street parking nearby.
The location puts Downtown Tampa, Benchmark International Arena, the Tampa Convention Center, the Riverwalk, Bayshore Boulevard, the University of Tampa, Water Street, Sparkman Wharf, Tampa General Hospital, and Ybor City all within easy reach, many within a 6-to-16-minute walk and several just a 2-to-4-minute drive, making the Garden Wing a strong base for conventions, concerts, sporting events, hospital stays, university visits, or simply exploring downtown Tampa.
Please note: this is a private residence, not a venue. No parties, no smoking, and no pets are permitted, and only registered guests may stay or visit. Standard reservations do not include events, gatherings, or commercial use; any such request requires separate written approval and terms.
