Some cabins are just a place to sleep between adventures. This one has a way of becoming the adventure.
You're perched on a private wooded mountainside inside Shagbark, a gated resort community — secluded enough that the loudest thing you'll hear is the hot tub jets, close enough that Dollywood is a quick drive down the mountain.
Inside, it's everything a Smoky Mountain cabin should be: warm knotty-pine walls, a stone fireplace, a deep leather sofa, and just enough bear décor to remind you where you are. The kitchen is fully equipped if you're cooking; the gas grill on the deck is ready if you'd rather eat with a view.
The sleeping setup works for families and small groups: two bedrooms upstairs — one with a king bed (Tempur-Pedic, with a 50" TV), one with a full and a twin (with a 50" TV)— plus a pull-out sofa bed in the living room. Sleeps 6 comfortably.
The game room is where kids disappear for hours: a real Pac-Man arcade cabinet, a foosball table, and a crate of family board games for fireside tournaments.
The hot tub is where the adults disappear. It sits on the deck overlooking the valley — pull the cover, sink in, and watch the sun drop behind the ridge line.
Between the two decks, you'll have a front-row seat for sunrise coffee and sunset everything-else.
As a Shagbark guest, you also get the resort's amenities: seasonal swimming pool, tennis and pickleball courts, and a playground — all a short walk or drive within the gates.
And when you're ready to explore: Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Dollywood, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, zip lines, and waterparks are all within easy reach.
You'll have private, exclusive access to the entire cabin. Self check-in is simple and secure with keypad entry, so you can arrive on your own schedule.
Your stay also includes full access to Shagbark Resort's community amenities:
Seasonal swimming pool (open through at least Labor Day)
Tennis and pickleball courts
Outdoor playground
One small exception: the storage closet in the living room is locked and reserved for owner supplies.
We prioritize your privacy and aim to provide a seamless, uninterrupted getaway. We will not be on the property during your stay. However, we are always available and happy to assist with any questions or needs via the booking platform's messaging app. Your comfort and satisfaction are our top priorities.
Security cameras: The property has two exterior Blink cameras — one at the front entrance facing the driveway, one on a tree between the deck levels. They monitor the exterior only and are there purely for security.
Locked closet: The living room storage closet is reserved for owner use and isn't accessible to guests.
Mountain roads: The drive up is paved but includes some steep, winding stretches — normal for the Smokies, but worth knowing before you arrive, especially in winter weather.
