About this place

A private campsite for one group on our farm in Hokitika. A stunningly beautiful property where you can meet our farm animals and have a campfire.

Welcome!

• The camp site is a private spot away from it all but only 10mins to the town. You'll have the whole camp to yourselves. Total privacy!

• Families absolutely love staying on our eco-farm among the many farm animals. Friendly free ranging kune kune pigs, goats and a flock of coloured sheep as well as our cows, peacocks and ducks. You can walk the farm and get up close to all our animals. The pigs will happily eat any food scraps you have.

Read our great reviews!

• You can have a campfire (bring your own firewood) and enjoy the farm and native bush.

Short drive to town for supplies. Centrally located between all the major West Coast attractions. The campervan/motorhome area is a large private area with native bush behind and beautiful views over the farm.

• Directly behind our farm (a 2min drive) is the site of an old goldmine dating back to the late 1800's. You can explore the area and see the old Chinese mining sites. Our farm is also very near the Arahura River, a very important source of pounamu (jade).

• NO PETS ALLOWED. We have stock.

• WATER: There is a cold water tap in the kitchen area and a gas heated shower.

• CHILDREN: All children must be supervised at all times as there are multiple hazards including ponds & streams.

• CAMPFIRE: Bring your own. You can buy dry firewood bags from gas stations, Mitre10, and some 4Square stores. Alternatively, collect some driftwood from the local beach. Please don't try to find wood to burn on our property.

• TOILET: We have a composting/drop toilet available at the campsite.

• BOOKING: Please email us as soon as you have booked to let us know your arrival time and a little about yourselves.

• ARRIVAL: There is a large flat area to choose from. Park wherever suits you best.

CHECKOUT: By 10am.

Look for the 2 large rocks at the gate of our driveway, up German Road then onto Humphreys Gully West.

RUBBISH Please take your rubbish and recycling with you. There are recycling/rubbish bins at New World supermarket.

Our farm house is completely off the grid and runs on solar panels.

We offer a friendly and warm space that is quite different from a hotel experience. We want guests to feel comfortable and at home in the spaces we have set up. Our listings really appeal to folks who love character homes, enjoy art on the walls and vintage/retro furniture.

We have both traveled extensively.
We absolutely love living here in Hokitika. It has a wonderful community - we are a really eclectic bunch. The scenery is wild and stunning and the history is fascinating.
I'm busy running our farm as well as working. We look forward to meeting our guests and are always happy to help you plan activities here on the West Coast - rain or shine - it is a fantastic place to be.

Getting around

From the Arahura Bridge roundabout, turn onto Arahura Valley Road, continue driving east towards the mountains for approx 4km till you come to GERMAN Road. (You MUST turn onto this road - if you miss the turn off you will not find us!) Turn right onto that road (gravel road) then turn left onto Humphreys Gully West Road. There are two large rocks at the entrance to the driveway.
