About this place

Experience Lahaina’s renewal without mega resort prices- private beach, AC, kitchen. Lahaina’s only truly beachfront resort. Easy walk to excursions.

Our family has been on Maui 40 years, this is the island knowledge we share. Queen bed + 2 convertible Serta twin beds (sleeps 3), full kitchen, central AC, private lanai with West Maui Mountain views, iconic Banyan Tree visible left from your lanai. Guest access
Check in at the 24-hour front desk. They'll give you keys and parking info. Your studio is private, the resort grounds are shared (pool, hot tub, beach).

Island etiquette is important here. Use the outdoor shower to rinse off, then take a minute to dry with your towel before going inside.

Front Street Fresh is easy walk down the freshly renewed Front Street walk (August 1, 2026 public reopening): breakfast burritos, smoothies, burgers.

There's a Coffee Stop (a local walk-up or drive-through, food truck style cafe) at the corner of the main road and Lahainaluna Rd. If you need your Latte or Americano. It's a flat mile walk - take the road below the main one, it's less like a highway. Go before 9am to avoid the heat. Starbucks is 1.8 miles. 'Ulo o Lele Marketplace opening Fall of 2026 on reopened Front Stret.

For making coffee in your room, bring your favorite Nespresso original pods or Keurig K-cups.

Skip large checked luggage. Pack swimsuits, sarongs, and laundry pods. We provide two bath towels and one quick-dry beach towel per guest, but heavy beach users might want to bring extras. At $5.50 per load, re-wearing a few things is much cheaper than baggage fees. You won't need nightclub wear or dress shoes.

Bring your first few meals and easy breakfast items. The real time saver is getting outside as soon as you arrive instead of hunting for groceries, bleary eyed (Foodland Farms & Safeway are closest). Walmart + membership is of high value here for free delivery of everything. It also employs local drivers, we tend to tip cash.

Hi, I'm Kristie and I have been doing vacation rentals since 2001, before Airbnb was even a term we used as a descriptor ;-) Come see our endangered Hawaiian monk seals, turtles at rest on our beach and the whales in season...either from the beach or hop on a boat you can board a couple of blocks away. Happy to serve as your personal concierge for all things Maui.

Getting around

Kannapali and Lahaina are often used interchangeably, although Kaanapali is the beach- a vague area, and it is in Lahaina. We have a map that is easy to orient yourselves with. We are closer to places like Old Lahaina Luau, Mala, Honu and Coco Deck on Front Street than the mega resort complexes are, as well as in the "in town" shopping, Starbucks and Grocery stores.

Snorkel trips, Atlantis Submarine or Sunset Sail- you can walk two blocks and hop on a boat tat the Lahaina Harbor (it's where the historic Banyan Tree is).

To rental car or not to rental car? That is up to you, but honestly, we have stopped. Cost wise it has been far less to Uber or Lyft from the Airport to Lahaina Shores Beach Resort and we now bike or walk down front street. Waiting in line at the car rental airport desks feel extra long after a flight. We book West Maui Taxi (Flat Rate) to return (it's better for the drivers). Recent price upticks, even at beach areas has made having a rental car a significant additional expense and headache. Most guests on island tend to drive around 1-2 days out of 7. Even if you Uber to Keawe, Cannery or Old Lahaina Luau or Aloha Mixed Plate and back (2 miles) to shop and go to restaurants, it's still less and you don't have to worry about the gas/ return at airport process or paid parking at Tiktok touted beaches. If you want to drive yourself to Haleakela or Hana, you can rent a car in Lhaiana for a couple of days or use Touro.

Lahaina or Kaanapali? It's all Lahaina.

Lahaina or Kaanapali? It's all Lahaina.

Missing 'old Lahaina'? It's still here: Aloha Mixed Plate and Old Lahaina Luau (and the Tiki Torches), both near the Cannery, are the real thing people remember, and they're close by, not up at Whalers Village which is a great outdoor shopping mall if that is what you are looking for. Many shops missed on Front Street are here (just map the Cannery) like Lahaina Jewelry, Lahaina Galleries, Lahaina Gelato, Kalei's. Also here: Mala Ocean Tavern, Honu Oceanside, Star Noodle, Sergio's Cantina and Coco Deck. A few remembered places have popped up at Whaler's Village like Cool Cat Cafe and Ono Gelato. 'Kaanapali' generally refers to the mega resort and mall area and the beach that fronts them; but the entire West Maui shoreline, including the big resorts, is Lahaina. Go browse the big name shops if you like, but for the food and the feel people actually miss, this end has it, and you can support the local economy. Newer Lahaina across the street from this area has places like Starbucks, Foodland Farms and Khloella's Gifts (one of our favorites).
