If you'd rather stay closer to your vacation "home" here on Tusquittee Creek, you can try your luck in the creek for trout or head on over to the pond for some bluegill and maybe even a small bass. And if it's the challenge of fly-fishing you're hoping for, we can direct you to several of the many wild creeks and trout streams here in our little corner of the mountains.

FISHING LICENSES:
For complete information regarding purchasing a license as well as rules and regulations for fishing in North Carolina, go to www.ncwildlife.org or call 888-629-45435 or 888-248-6834. The website provides details of store hours and a link for map to each store. It’s a good idea to call ahead and verify store hours. For information related to trout fishing, including license requirements, stocking schedules and maps, go to the above website and enter “trout fishing” in the search box. Note - A fishing license is not required to fish in a private pond. Finally, if you get your license online but would like to print out a hard copy, we’re happy to print it out for you—just send us an email with the link/file (send to casaonthecreek@gmail.com).

Directions: At the light at Hwy 64 and Hwy 69 in Hayesville—go south on Hwy 69 approx ½ mile. The sore is just beyond Rib Country on the right-hand side.

NOTE! Here in the mountains, local businesses are often closed on Sundays and/or Mondays and rarely have late evening hours. It’s always a good idea to call and verify hours of operation prior to heading out.
