Jackrabbit Trail System is a hiking and biking trail system, part of the Nantahala National Forest, right here in our little corner of the mountains!

The Jackrabbit trail system and the Jackrabbit Recreation Area offers some of the prettiest views of Lake Chatuge anywhere nearby. The trail system is well-marked with great "You are here" signage throughout. The main loop (the "white loop") is perfect for families with small children and hikers of all ages and levels. There are a half-dozen connector and loop trails that branch off the main trail so you can customize your hike to be as long or short, easy or arduous as you like. Where you're done hiking and biking, head 1/4 mile down the road to the Jackrabbit picnic area and swim beach. Located just 10 minutes away from Blackwell Branch Cabin and Gili's Cove Cottage.
