Helen vacation rentals

Looking online for a reasonably priced place to stay for a few days over Valentines Day weekend was starting to look a little bleak when Alemaigne Haus came up in the search. I almost couldn't believe the hype....the pictures and the descriptions sounded amazing for such a great price! After a few easy email exchanges with the owners, Terry and Gary, plans were finalized. We arrived Friday afternoon and the owners were waiting for us - with a personalized bottle of wine and a collection of yummy chocolates! They told us a bit about the property and showed us around and then left us to begin our vacation, which was made so easy at this lovely getaway. We needed nothing - there was already split firewood and a firestarter log for us to use in the fireplace, a list of all the special events around town (this is why we went ziplining!) a binder with local menus, a stack of activity fliers, and on and on. There were even items in the fridge and pantry for us to use if we wanted! The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, etc and all the appliances were new and in great condition. Actually, everything was new and in great condition. The two bedrooms were comfortable and well appointed and the three full baths were stocked with big fluffy towels and great lighting. This awesome home was close to everything in Helen and the views were inspiring. We watched turkeys in the morning and found evidence of deer on our walk to the creek directly below the cabin. We spent time on the deck one beautiful morning and just really enjoyed ourselves tremendously. We expect to go back again and again as this is a great deal on a great property with great owners.

This is a great rental. It's very clean!!! The area in just up the hill from the center of town yet very quiet. It felt very safe too considering the police department is at the base of the hill. They list a pool but the pool they're referring to is at a water park you pay to get in. Also, the bathroom upstairs is a Jack and Jill bathroom shared between the two bedrooms. The jets to the tub are on a wall farthest away from the tub so you have to get out to turn them on and off. The water heater isn't big enough to fill the tub with hot water. The shower downstairs listed as the second bathroom was so small my 5 year old wouldn't get in. It's literally like half a foot to a foot wide. I'm not sure why it's even there other than to list as two bathrooms to sell the townhouse for more rent. It really is an emaculate place, not speck of dust to be found. We met the owner when we got there which I found unusual considering they could just give us the code but he went over all the rules and the information on the town. They supplied coffee, creamer, sugar, washing detergent and ANYTHING you could ever need in a kitchen. Plus, there is a gas grill and a place to sit outside, a screened in porch, a sunroom and then a living room. The dining room is next to the kitchen with a bar area for two. We like to keep the temperature really cool, especially at night and the place stayed perfectly crisp and cool for us. The owners are great hosts and other than a few logistical issues (mentioned above) we had a GREAT time! I would reccomend renting from them after knowing about the bathrooms and such. (The listing is kind of vague in these areas.) Thanks for great stay and your recommendations on where to eat and what to do in the beautiful town of Helen, GA!

Listen, this is the best Airbnb I have ever stayed in. The amenities are better than a five star hotel. And the attention to detail is AMAZING. Separate pool towels for the hot tub. Extra towels to wipe and clean your feet as you leave the hot-tub! The table in the bathroom so us ladies have a place to put items, the bluetooth speaker so u can play music, the big curved couch is PERFECT for cuddling and that view is awesome! Omg- my husband has back issues and the vibration bed was so comfy with a memory foam topper that I thought I wouldn’t like, but supported us completely. ALSO, the are little shelves attached to the 4x4’s next to the hot tub so you have a place to put drinks, glasses, phones.. Spices in the kitchen, and a full glorious kitchen. There was ICE in the freezer. That’s a game changer for drinks watching the sunset! The atmospheric lighting everywhere makes it so romantic. Now, the only thing I will warn you about is don’t arrive to the place for the first time in the dark. Even with gps we almost missed the turn in the daytime and it is a one lane long uphill driveway. When you pull up to your space the outside is extremely unassuming, lol, but just wait till you get inside the place… worth EVERY penny. Will be coming back with friends & family. Pictures are true to life, but they don’t do the experience justice. Very well thought out space. Hosts took the time to answer my many questions so our rental would go just right. This listing does have a full flight of steps to enter the unit, so fyi.

Very clean and fun property. Super close to Helen Water park and Tubing which was the main attraction my girls wanted to do. Would definitely recommend this property to other larger groups visiting Helen.

The drive to the house is beautiful. We saw a deer while enjoying the back porch. The house is very nice, well lighted, calm and peaceful. It is close to Helen, restaurants, shopping, waterfalls, water slides, river floating, putt-putt. There are many activities to do, as well as beautiful scenic drives to take. Following a car break-down, the owners were kind to extend our stay another night while repairs were being made. The people in this area are SUPER ! Thank you, Hickory Stump BBQ for letting us "hang out" while waiting for the tow truck and constantly checking on us, the gentleman patron there who chatted with us. said he would worry about us and gave us a hug when he left, American Taxi for safely and graciously delivering us back to the house, Hulsey Towing for finding us a repairman on the weekend and delivering the car to us after repairs. We couldn't have asked for a better place to be. Thank you all. We would definitely return here.

Absolutely amazing! We had a family vacation here with 8 adults and 5 kids - everyone loved it! The cabin is spacious and so cozy! Perfect place for groups with small kids because the layout is great for putting kids to bed and still having space to hangout without bothering them. They had everything we needed and didn’t even expect for the kids - high chair, pack n play, fun kid dishes, and a baby gate. The view is 10/10, the goats are so cute and fun to feed every morning, the hot tub is huge and clean, the beds were so comfortable - I can’t say enough good things! You could walk to Helen easily but we chose to drive because the hill to the house is steep and we had small kids in our group - otherwise we would have walked. There is tons to do in town for all ages and the nature can’t be beat. One of my favorite trips we have ever had!

Nancy provided everything needed for a relaxing, comfortable stay. I am a caregiver of two 80 year old and a 50 year old who has been suffering a lot lately (in and out of the hospital), am a mom of a teenager as well as a 6 year old plus, am a small business owner and chairman of a nonprofit. When I say my plate is full and I needed a getaway, Nancy and her space was truly the best blessing for me to unwind and celebrate my birthday with the love of my life. I do believe that I had reached my breaking point and am forever grateful to Nancy for hosting such an amazing and magnificent experience for us. Her place was very clean, perfect location, the way that she communicated with us each and every day made us feel like family. Nancy is amazing, she should be on the board of directors for Airbnb if you ask me, she’s really good at this. The goats are so adorable, wish we had quarters that we could have fed them some treats from the gum ball machine, next time. Thank you Nancy!! ❤️🥰😍

The cabin was great. The kitchen was well equipped. The view was really nice. Communication with Nancy was easy peezy and fast. Just a head up to someone with a bad knee (like me lol), the steps that lead to the upper level and downstairs are very tall, it was very complicated for me to go up and down. We had toddlers running around the house and down the basement……chasing my daughter was challenging with each step being so tall. But the view and location was great!!!!!!!!! And if you don’t have a bad knee like me…..go for it!!! It is super pretty!!!
