Peggy and Mike’s place is an absolute gem. It is immaculately clean, beautifully decorate, perfectly located, and expertly hosted. Everything is even better than the pictures! I was a bit apprehensive about booking a place where the hosts were onsite, but I must say that having Mike and Peggy there only added to the experience. They recommend restaurants, sights, and local attractions, and they were super hospitable without being intrusive. The lake and mountain views are breathtaking. We loved walking out the door and jumping in the lake or hopping on the kayak or paddle board. Everything about it was excellent. This one is a winner for sure!

We stayed here about a year ago and it was our first time in GA Brunswick-St. Simon's area. We liked it so much we stayed with Schelley again. Her place has everything you need for a comfortable, convenient stay. From inviting bed and sofa w large TV to fully stocked kitchen with condiments, spices, etc. Bath and laundry with all necessities provided. The decor is homey and fun beach vibe. Speaking of! St. Simon's Isle is nearby with wonderful beaches. If you want to stay put with your pup, Schelley has the ideal slice of fenced-in heaven to enjoy. Backing up to scenic marsh with deck and pretty view. Lots of palms and live oaks (state tree) with Spanish moss adorn her property. Schelley ensures her property is functional, maintained, clean - plus she's responsive and knowledgeable. She has made this her pride and joy. We also love her pup, Miss Willow. Highly recommend this place to those looking for a quiet and peaceful retreat. Oh, there is tons of great seafood in the area right near Schelley and the Golden Isles. Enjoy!

Imagine driving down a street and you see a small dirt road to the side ...you turn in and the gravel road goes down a hill and is taking you through a wooded area and closer to the sounds of a creek. Then you see it! A charming cottage at the bottom of this 'adventurous' drive and facing the gorgeous creek! Well, you have arrived at Chestatee River Retreat! A Hidden Gem! The cabin is very warming and inviting. Plenty of room for a family or just for me and my husband. The kitchen is fully stocked and all cookware needed. Head to the store (Walmart @ 5 miles away) and grab some stuff for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We sat outside on the screened in patio and enjoyed the sounds of nature and the roaring creek! ( Kitchen was stocked with tons of spices and oils needed to cook). Every bedroom and bath is fully stocked with enough towels, hairdryers and soap. Even had make up removing towels! All TVs are smart tvs and have dual remotes for regular tv and Netflix etc. Once settled in, turn on the fireplace, grab a glass of wine and head down to the stream where you can "wet your line" for trout or bass! There you can sit by the firepit where firewood is usually provided for a mere $5. Owner, Mitch, was even kind enough to have all the fixin's for us to make S'mores! Speaking of Mitch... in all my years of vrbo travels - Mitch was the most attentive host I've ever come across. Outstanding!!!! Wi-Fi can be spotty at times; but it is the mountains! Check out the restaurants and cafes in main Dahlonega (this cute area reminded me of "americana"). There is also a zoo very close by with all kinds of exotic animals you can feed! This was one of the best stays ever. A must! Would I ever book again? ABSOLUTELY .... already planning my trip here next year!!!

We were three couples celebrating 60th and 70th birthdays and the house was perfect for our 3 night stay. Each couple had their own space/floor with separate bathrooms. Kitchen was fully equipped with anything you would need for cooking… there were tons of dishes, glasses, coffee cups, etc. There were extra trash bags, dish liquid, hand soap, laundry detergent, toilet tissue and plenty of towels. The only thing we really needed was paper towels and we did have to hand wash silverware because there wasn’t that much of it. The fireplace was on a timer and was simple to turn on. One couple used the hot tub and said it was great. There were extra towels for it as well. We had rainy weather so didn’t get to take advantage of the fire pit but there were 8 chairs around it so it would have been nice. The cabin had a great view and would be fabulous in “leaf season”. The road to the cabin and driveway was paved and parking was ample for our 3 cars and it was easy to get in and out of. We were less than 5 miles to Helen so it was perfect for shopping and people watching from King Ludwig Biergarten. Also close to Cleveland for groceries and such. Rental process was very easy and the owners checked in with us after we arrived. The instruction binder told us all we needed to know about the house rules and check out process. Overall the accommodations and experience were great and we would stay here again!

I have loved staying here with my dog. It is a great space to come and stay for work or vacation. The location is great because it is walkable to all the restaurants in downtown Brunswick. Neighbors are very friendly as well.

Looking online for a reasonably priced place to stay for a few days over Valentines Day weekend was starting to look a little bleak when Alemaigne Haus came up in the search. I almost couldn't believe the hype....the pictures and the descriptions sounded amazing for such a great price! After a few easy email exchanges with the owners, Terry and Gary, plans were finalized. We arrived Friday afternoon and the owners were waiting for us - with a personalized bottle of wine and a collection of yummy chocolates! They told us a bit about the property and showed us around and then left us to begin our vacation, which was made so easy at this lovely getaway. We needed nothing - there was already split firewood and a firestarter log for us to use in the fireplace, a list of all the special events around town (this is why we went ziplining!) a binder with local menus, a stack of activity fliers, and on and on. There were even items in the fridge and pantry for us to use if we wanted! The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, etc and all the appliances were new and in great condition. Actually, everything was new and in great condition. The two bedrooms were comfortable and well appointed and the three full baths were stocked with big fluffy towels and great lighting. This awesome home was close to everything in Helen and the views were inspiring. We watched turkeys in the morning and found evidence of deer on our walk to the creek directly below the cabin. We spent time on the deck one beautiful morning and just really enjoyed ourselves tremendously. We expect to go back again and again as this is a great deal on a great property with great owners.

This is a great rental. It's very clean!!! The area in just up the hill from the center of town yet very quiet. It felt very safe too considering the police department is at the base of the hill. They list a pool but the pool they're referring to is at a water park you pay to get in. Also, the bathroom upstairs is a Jack and Jill bathroom shared between the two bedrooms. The jets to the tub are on a wall farthest away from the tub so you have to get out to turn them on and off. The water heater isn't big enough to fill the tub with hot water. The shower downstairs listed as the second bathroom was so small my 5 year old wouldn't get in. It's literally like half a foot to a foot wide. I'm not sure why it's even there other than to list as two bathrooms to sell the townhouse for more rent. It really is an emaculate place, not speck of dust to be found. We met the owner when we got there which I found unusual considering they could just give us the code but he went over all the rules and the information on the town. They supplied coffee, creamer, sugar, washing detergent and ANYTHING you could ever need in a kitchen. Plus, there is a gas grill and a place to sit outside, a screened in porch, a sunroom and then a living room. The dining room is next to the kitchen with a bar area for two. We like to keep the temperature really cool, especially at night and the place stayed perfectly crisp and cool for us. The owners are great hosts and other than a few logistical issues (mentioned above) we had a GREAT time! I would reccomend renting from them after knowing about the bathrooms and such.
