View from the dining area table, or work station if needed.
Resort pool for morning swims before creative work or exploration begins. Peaceful early hours, social when you want it. Most guests here are digital nomads, writers, and remote workers.
Vintage style glass knobbed doors provide privacy between the toilet and shower room and the sink and mirror area to provide "together but separate" privacy. Bath gel, Shampoo and conditioner are provided.
Privacy when it matters. A full wood door between the shower and toilet space and the the sink, cabinet and vanity area.
Serta Convertible (twin) chairs. We find these much more comfortable that pull-out- sofas.
Polarized floor to ceiling views with high quality blackout shade for rest. Hanging nest chair, seating for two on the balcony.
Endangered Hawaiian monk seals are frequent visitors to our beach. Guests often spot them resting on the sand or swimming nearshore. A special part of staying at Compass Blue Lahaina Shores.
Beachfront, is truly beachfront resort. You are on the 4th floor of the building to the left
A surfer is returning from their morning session by the harbor (yes there are lessons available on site, Bully’s).
Room lanai facing the mountains "Mauka" with table and seating for two. If you look left you can catch a view of the harbor and get an idea of what the waves are like at Breakwall.
The chest of drawers the TV sits on holds your additional bedding and blankets. You also have 2 sets of 3 drawers to put your clothes in. Wifi and variety of streaming available to you, or sign in to your own.
Counter height bar seating in the kitchen. (Total of 3 paired spots for mealsYou can also eat outside poolside or picnic on the beach.
This outdoor shower is an absolute necessity for staying beachfront. Use it as you come and go and prior to entering the pool or building by the pineapple light fixtures (private beach gate). You’ll need a room key to swipe in and out.
After the sun sets, the pineapples light up. One of our favorite small things at this resort.
This is an unfiltered, real sunset on the lawn. You can watch from the lawn or the beach.
View from the elevator exit into your lobby. Gorgeous! (that's the island of Lanai).
Laundry rooms are on each floor of the resort.
Details matter. Fresh coconuts, volcanic sand, the feeling that you've found your own private corner of paradise.
Post-hike ritual. After surfing, hiking, or a long snorkel session, the hot tub becomes your favorite spot. It's social in the best way. Other guests share recommendations and surf report updates, it's where active travelers decompress.
It’s hard to miss the view here. From kitchen facing the west Maui mountains. French blue style drinking glass. The cream colored armchair converts to a twin bed (Serta branded).
Hawaiian hospitality expressed through thoughtful details.
Beachfront | Turtles, Seals, Whales & Surf
Even the morning routine feels special when your bathroom is within a beachfront property. Natural light, ocean breeze, thoughtful design throughout urging you to get down to the shore.
Quality amenities provided. Everything you need is here. Bring your creativity, leave the logistics to us.
Beach neighbors. Honu (green sea turtles) rest and nest nearby, reminding you to slow down and respect the rhythm of this beautiful, resilient place.
Watch sailboats drift by, honus and monk seals nap. The pace of island life is visible from here: slow, intentional, restorative. From November to May, whales bring energy and you can watch them breech from shore (or hop on a boat).
Enjoy the ambiance of under cabinet lighting in the evenings in the Compass Blue kitchen, recently updated with all new appliances and dishwasher. Well equipped for cooking your favorite meals in your home away from home, granite countertops.
Coffee is in reach or have your meal outside at the table and chairs al fresco. Full kitchen designed for actually cooking, not just reheating takeout. Granite counters, stainless appliances, and these blue velvet chairs add personality.
The endangered Hawaiian monk seal is a frequent visitor, but please keep your distance The Honu (turtles) also rest here daily. Rare Hawaiian monk seal sighting on your beach. They understand the value of peaceful beachfront space, just like you.

You can rent water equipment from this pop-up just down the beach. That is our building in the background. Breakwall surf spot is here.

The convertible seating & sleeping solution. Serta loungers flatten into comfortable twin beds when you need extra sleeping space, 15 seconds back to a chair for day use. Gray quilted covers included as mattress pads/day covers & of course linens.
Morning workspace or reading corner, your choice. The woven chairs and glass table work for coffee and journaling, laptop work, or planning the day's adventures. Traditional Hawaiian craftsmanship meets functional flexibility.

Hi, I'm Kristie and I have been doing vacation rentals since 2001, before Airbnb was even a term we used as a descriptor ;-) Come see our endangered Hawaiian monk seals, turtles at rest on our beach and the whales in season...either from the beach or hop on a boat you can board a couple of blocks away. Happy to serve as your personal concierge for all things Maui.

Kannapali and Lahaina are often used interchangeably, although Kaanapali is the beach- a vague area, and it is in Lahaina. We have a map that is easy to orient yourselves with. We are closer to places like Old Lahaina Luau, Mala, Honu and Coco Deck on Front Street than the mega resort complexes are, as well as in the "in town" shopping, Starbucks and Grocery stores.

Snorkel trips, Atlantis Submarine or Sunset Sail- you can walk two blocks and hop on a boat tat the Lahaina Harbor (it's where the historic Banyan Tree is).

To rental car or not to rental car? That is up to you, but honestly, we have stopped. Cost wise it has been far less to Uber or Lyft from the Airport to Lahaina Shores Beach Resort and we now bike or walk down front street. Waiting in line at the car rental airport desks feel extra long after a flight. We book West Maui Taxi (Flat Rate) to return (it's better for the drivers). Recent price upticks, even at beach areas has made having a rental car a significant additional expense and headache. Most guests on island tend to drive around 1-2 days out of 7. Even if you Uber to Keawe, Cannery or Old Lahaina Luau or Aloha Mixed Plate and back (2 miles) to shop and go to restaurants, it's still less and you don't have to worry about the gas/ return at airport process or paid parking at Tiktok touted beaches. If you want to drive yourself to Haleakela or Hana, you can rent a car in Lhaiana for a couple of days or use Touro.

Lahaina or Kaanapali? It's all Lahaina.

Lahaina or Kaanapali? It's all Lahaina.

Missing 'old Lahaina'? It's still here: Aloha Mixed Plate and Old Lahaina Luau (and the Tiki Torches), both near the Cannery, are the real thing people remember, and they're close by, not up at Whalers Village which is a great outdoor shopping mall if that is what you are looking for. Many shops missed on Front Street are here (just map the Cannery) like Lahaina Jewelry, Lahaina Galleries, Lahaina Gelato, Kalei's. Also here: Mala Ocean Tavern, Honu Oceanside, Star Noodle, Sergio's Cantina and Coco Deck. A few remembered places have popped up at Whaler's Village like Cool Cat Cafe and Ono Gelato. 'Kaanapali' generally refers to the mega resort and mall area and the beach that fronts them; but the entire West Maui shoreline, including the big resorts, is Lahaina. Go browse the big name shops if you like, but for the food and the feel people actually miss, this end has it, and you can support the local economy. Newer Lahaina across the street from this area has places like Starbucks, Foodland Farms and Khloella's Gifts (one of our favorites).
