This is more than just a place to crash; this is an experience. This was everything we expected from reading the description and a little bit more... To get to a cliff-top hideaway you have to drive up a cliff. It doesn't seem right at the time but little old ladies and kids can do it easily. The view at the top will literally take your breath away. This is a safe, gated property with very secure parking. The tiki trailer is a piece of art on wheels. It has been painstakingly restored with vintage touches that kept us smiling our entire stay. It is pristine, with yummy sheets and the convenience of modern plumbing. I enjoyed my morning coffee in a vintage china cup and marveled at the view. I did not want to leave. There is ample outside space to put out a yoga mat; there is a shaded lounge area. Delicious. The whole place lends itself to writing your screen play or just curling up for a nap. There is an accessible Hiking Trail. Michael and Julia are wonderful hosts. She will be happy to share the details of the renovation. If your'e lucky she will show you what she has done to her own home on the same property. Great experience that I recommend to other kids my age!

My stay at this cottage was great. Mary went out of her way to make sure I felt comfortable from the moment I arrived, which made the whole experience feel welcoming and easy. The cottage itself was spotless and private, and it didn’t take long for it to feel like my own space. I appreciated how simple everything was—parking, check-in, getting settled, all of it. The location worked out really well too. It’s tucked in a quiet spot, but still close enough to shops, coffee, and anything I needed during my stay. After long days out, coming back to a calm, well-kept place made a big difference. The patio was a great place to unwind, and the inside had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Overall, Mary’s hospitality and attention to detail really stood out. She clearly cares about making sure guests have a smooth and relaxing visit. I will stay here again the next time I’m in the area.

Davi's house is absolutely adorable!! We're "old house" people and his house had both character, as well as all the modern amenities and decor. As others have noted, the house feels very private, but is also walkable to great restaurants, bars, coffee, a Trader Joe's, etc. The neighborhood also feels very safe and everyone we met was very friendly. A local I met in the coffee shop recommended V Wine Room, which is just across the street. Highly recommend! Davi himself is an excellent communicator, extremely responsive, and invested in your experience. The house is also super clean, clutter free (I saw another reviewer say "sparse," with which I disagree), and the cleaning person we met was also very nice. We were there as part of a longer trip to CA, so we did several loads of laundry and cooked lots of dinners in the kitchen. Agree that the bathroom is a bit small, but I've definitely seen smaller in houses of a similar age. I would absolutely stay here again. 5/5 stars.

If you’re coming to Newport, this place was absolutely wonderful! The beach and amazing food/ activities are just a quick walk away. The neighborhood was safe and quiet and the apartment was pristine. If you are bringing your pup, a good thing to know is that good potty spots are also a few minutes walk away, and if your dog is anything like ours, she refuses to go potty unless their is a tree or grass lol so we found ourselves talking her on lots of walks during the day and evening, but this is not a con as our dog was incredibly happy for multiple walks a day, however if you have mobility issues, it might be tough. I would 10000% love to book this place again next time we are in town, everything was perfect. Ron was a great responsive host and very courteous and accommodating. One of the best airbnb experiences we have had in a while!

This the cutest little home! I stayed with my daughter & her husband. There is a full-sized bed in front bedroom & bunkbeds in the 2nd room. The bottom bunk is full-sized, sleeps 2 and, if needed, also converts into a sofa. The Casita is tastefully decorated. As long as you are not the type to "spread out", it's perfect for a cozy stay. There is a small kitchen: refrigerator, 2-burner stove, microwave, toaster - all you need for a light breakfast or reheat leftovers. With nice weather, enjoy your coffee on the patio. The beds are comfortable and the linens are to die for! You can just sink into the softness & relax. It is an extremely quiet neighborhood. (Be sure to set the alarm if you have an appointment in the morning!) The Casita is located close to the LB airport & within minutes to 405 or 710 freeways. It's in a lovely neighborhood. Grocery store is nearby, as is a CVS & Walgreen's. I have family in the area and this was a perfect home to be nearby but not underfoot. It's not a cookie-cutter hotel room: no elevator noise, no upstairs neighbor stomping on floor. Peaceful. That's a quality that cannot be said about many venues. The owner lives in the home in front & you'd never know he was home. (He's a stealth ninja!) Lars provided coffee, tea, creamer. He even bakes cookies! With all the craziness of family Thanksgiving, Casita Gundry was the best choice I could have made for a 3-day stay. I will definitely book another stay!

Our 2 month stay here was phenomenal! We were a bit nervous as we traveled from the Midwest and hadn’t spent too much time in Hollywood prior. After driving in after dark, we were wondering if we made the right decision— we did!! Jojo’s place is amazing! The interior is renovated and has such excellent modern touches (tap-to-activate sink, quiet dish washer, gentle washer/drier). The bed/bedroom was comfortable and spacious. Plenty of storage for 2 people! Kitchen was nice and open with great appliances. We did a lot of cooking and felt we had everything we needed. We both worked from home while here and didn’t have any issues. Loved the nice table in the kitchen as a “desk”. So nice that the back duplex has concrete space and a little outdoor table. Loved to just step outside and enjoy the LA weather! Location: couldn’t have asked for a better location! You’re a mile east of Hancock Park. My boyfriend and I were able to take daily runs to and through the wonderful Hollywood neighborhood. Everything feels like a 15-20 min drive away! We learned that in LA, that’s extremely convenient. Griffith parking was 12 min away, Los Feliz and Atwater were 15 min away. There’s a grocery store 4 min away. Amazing restaurants in walking distance and short drives away. West Hollywood only 15 min away. Korea town & amazing Korean bbq only 12 min away. Safety: not once did we ever feel unsafe. The neighborhood is older, nice and quiet. While you’re on a busier road, you don’t feel like it when you’re tucked away inside. Jojo was friendly and accommodating! She was so quick to answer any questions or help with any concerns. I wish we could live here full time! Don’t hesitate to book this spot!

This airbnb was absolutely fantastic! The open-concept layout made it easy for everyone to gather and relax, while the spacious bedrooms provided plenty of privacy and comfort. The bathrooms were beautifully done - modern, spotless and stocked with all of the essentials. The cozy fireplace was a wonderful bonus, especially on the chilly mornings and later in the evening. The staircase was a little bit of a deterrent for smaller toddlers, but the home overall was safe for little ones to play and be part of the action. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were so cozy and smelled great! The location couldn't have been better - just one block from the beach and close to restaurants. The two-car garage was very handy. We also loved the front patio, which was perfect for morning coffee or evening drinks and a safe place for the kids to be outside. Lynn was very accessible always, very prompt to reply to any questions and check-in and out were super simple.

This home is gorgeous!!!! The fact that it was a BRAND NEW HOUSE was a nice surprise. I stayed here a with a few friends and each of the rooms were extremely comfortable and spacious. My suite, the master, was AMAZING with an especially spectacular view . I especially loved the master steam shower and jacuzzi tub which opened up to the bedroom and city skyline view. A few of the the best things about the house were that even with 5 of us in the house, no one had to share a bathroom, everyone had their own area, the wifi worked great and there are TVs in each bedroom. The kitchen was super modern and very comfortable as a gathering space for our late night chit chat and for breakfast this morning. The living and dining rooms were relaxing with fantastic views as well. This place feels secluded yet, very close to many restaurants and entertainment venues in hollywood. It is completely secure and the gate is stylish while still serving it's purpose of keeping everyone feeling at ease. We had a great parking space and James was available for any questions and extremely knowledgable of the area. Well worth the price and I hope that we can stay here again in the future...
