Fishing vacation rentals

Our trip to Gettysburg was wonderful, partially because of the wonderful Blue Coat Cottage we stayed in. So clean, homey, and welcoming you hate to leave it. Upon arrival, we found blueberry muffins on the table waiting for us, plus a snack bowl of goodies. Our hosts seemed to have thought of everything! The bedrooms and bathroom is upstairs, so it was nice at night to let my family go to bed, and I could stay up later downstairs without disturbing them. Blue Coat Cottage is in a country setting, so it’s quiet as well as beautiful. Those who are tall will need to be aware the ceiling fans are low, so you need to be careful; we managed pretty well because we are not on the tall side. I dealt with Lee Ann (the host), and she is amazing to work with! I’m so glad we found this cottage; my family agreed we would love to stay here again if we ever get to come back to Gettysburg!

This place was the perfect two day stay for me and my fiancé before heading off to Lockn’ Festival. Only 25 minutes from the festival grounds, and secluded enough in the woods. Pure silence at night, except for the peepers which is so relax. Our host was wonderful! She answered any question we had while still respecting your privacy, and checked in on us (via message) to make sure our stay was up to our standards. The place was super clean, smelt great (just like a woody cabin), and so much attention to small details to make your stay easy. You really only need to show up with your clothes and any food you want to eat, that’s it. Gold star for this awesome spot and can’t wait to hopefully return. - Anybody going to Lockn Festival in the future years: this is the perfect couple night stay before the festival. Wood Ridge Brewery was super cool, only 15 mins away. And the ladies who work at the Exxon gas station (15 mins away off of 29) were so nice to us, and literally made us the most bomb breakfast sandwiches on biscuits! Perfect stop before heading off to Lockn’!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

First off I’d like to say, with this being a renovated old-school house it is truly immaculate; it has everything you need and more. If you don’t stay here and feel like you’re in a classroom with a huge library of reading material all around you then this place is not for you. There is reading material for all ages. There are areas all around the place to cuddle up with one of the many blankets they provide and a good book. I think the best part of my stay was the large back porch off the living room. I would sit there every evening and just listen to the peaceful sounds and the occasional ruffle of the leaves and wonder what furry friend is out there joining me. I saw the occasional deer stroll by and a possum foraging through the leaves looking for a treat. My daughter and her old pup joined me for the first few nights and then the rest of the week I was in total solitude. If you ever want a place to just get away for “me time“ this is the place to stay. Though, this is also a place for family time. There’s a wonderful well lit outdoor area with a fire pit and seating. There is also ample area for playing outdoor games. I can’t forget to mention the wonderful town of Dahlonega and all it has to offer. There are loads of wineries all around to visit and the beautiful Mountain views are breathtaking. This is definitely a place I will return when visiting Dahlonega. Thank you for having us. Linda L.

We stayed here about a year ago and it was our first time in GA Brunswick-St. Simon's area. We liked it so much we stayed with Schelley again. Her place has everything you need for a comfortable, convenient stay. From inviting bed and sofa w large TV to fully stocked kitchen with condiments, spices, etc. Bath and laundry with all necessities provided. The decor is homey and fun beach vibe. Speaking of! St. Simon's Isle is nearby with wonderful beaches. If you want to stay put with your pup, Schelley has the ideal slice of fenced-in heaven to enjoy. Backing up to scenic marsh with deck and pretty view. Lots of palms and live oaks (state tree) with Spanish moss adorn her property. Schelley ensures her property is functional, maintained, clean - plus she's responsive and knowledgeable. She has made this her pride and joy. We also love her pup, Miss Willow. Highly recommend this place to those looking for a quiet and peaceful retreat. Oh, there is tons of great seafood in the area right near Schelley and the Golden Isles. Enjoy!

We stayed at Donna and Cameron's place for three nights while on our "retirement trip" to Australia.Communication with Donna was so easy from the moment that we first booked the accommodation until check-out. Donna and Cameron met us when we arrived and showed us around. They were available for questions throughout our stay, but gave us as much privacy as we wanted.The vacation rental was exactly as described, and was extremely clean. The bathroom has an amazing huge shower with two shower heads--one a rain shower and the other a regular showerhead.We had a loaf of homemade bread, fresh-from-the farm eggs, strawberries, other fruit, tomatoes, milk, orange juice, tea and coffee waiting for us when we arrived--what a breakfast treat!Although the "kitchen area" is small, it has everything you need to make simple meals, reheat leftovers and enjoy the delicious breakfast!The rental is conveniently located close enough to Adelaide to sightsee, but far enough away to be away from the "hustle and bustle" of the city. It is very close to all of the McLaren Vale wineries--you could spend days doing all of them. You can also walk the beach and did I mention that the sunsets were amazing!!!??If you are looking for a place close to Adelaide and wineries, with great amenities and amazing sunsets, this is the place for you.

Following a death in the family, we decided to go to Cape Cod for a vacation. We had been there many times before, but we always stayed in the Orleans area. This time we decided to explore the Harwich/Dennis/Yarmouth areas. It was a wise choice. The home we rented in Harwich was centrally located on a spacious lot, resulting in much privacy. The home was "dog friendly" so we were able to bring our Cocker Spaniel, who enhanced our vacation. The inside of the home was bright and cheerful. Sheets, blankets, and towels were provided, and the beds were very comfortable. There was a huge "great room" where the kitchen, dining area, and living room were opened, and many hours were spent reading or watching TV with a multitude of channels. WiFi was provided, and our computers worked well. Had it been warmer, we would have utilized the beautiful deck and gas grill. We cooked and ate inside most of the time. There were many places to visit in our location. One of our favorites was a nearby Cranberry Bog, which had a bus tour of the property and farming techniques used. The beaches were lovely. It was off season so our dog loved walking on the beach and chasing the seagulls. Many restaurants served some of the finest seafood we have ever eaten. My husband was shown some of the best fishing areas and plans to return in the spring to enjoy the sport. The Cape Cod Potato Chip Plant in Hyannis provided us with a tour of its facilities and gave us some samples of their chips. We enjoyed meeting new friends and appreciated their kindness toward us. The owners of this property care about "your stay." If anything needed to be attended to, they addressed it immediately. We will return. Upon leaving, we were rejuvenated!

I cannot say enough about this lovely cabin! It's close enough to to Bryson City and Asheville to make day trips, yet so comfortable that you won't want to leave! We stayed for a week with my parents, and our 2 children. My parents stayed in the downstairs room, and my husband and I took the loft bedroom. It was so nice to have the second bath upstairs, and there was also an additional "spare room" upstairs where our 2 girls slept. They are 4 and 5 so we brought small cots for them to sleep on, to avoid having them roll out of a bed, but it would be perfect for a teenager or another adult guest. I can't rave enough about the bed, I slept better than I have EVER slept away from home. We cooked a full Thanksgiving dinner, as well as a week's worth of other meals, with no difficulty in needing any extra equipment. Maybe a few extra large platters/trays for serving, but that's probably not usually needed for most vacationers! We used all the equipment in the home, the dishwasher, clothes washer/dryer, gas fireplace, hot tub, everything is in top shape. And for a COLD week, the hot water heater and furnace were a pleasure after taking long walks! As noted, the driveway is a bit of an adventure, but we felt safe even after 24 hours of torrential rain followed by snow. Plus it means that the cabin is totally private and offers truly amazing views...

Our family had a fabulous reunion at Villa by the Castle. With 6 adults and 4 children we needed a large space that was fully equipped. This property had it all. The owners Steve and Sandy had excellent communication from first contact to check out which was very reasuring. There was a large welcome package waiting for us at check in so we didn’t have to rush to the store for essentials. Cleaning supplies, laundry and dish detergent was added bonuses. The house itself was clean and comfortable. Beds were comfortable with extra linens and lots of towels for the pool. The salt water pool was warm and the hot tub was a great hit with everyone. I appreciated that there was no extra charge for the pool heat. We spent hours in it every day. Two of our kids learnt to swim during our stay. Within a short walk, was the community pool with water slides for the kids, also a huge hit. The games room in the house was used by all with air hockey being the favourite. Although the we didn’t use much of it, there was lots of equipment for babies and young children. The stroller was very handy during our days at Disney. We cooked most of our meals so the extremely well equipped kitchen was greatly appreciated. There are lots of dishes, glasses, pots, pans & cooking equipment. We even made 3 birthday cakes using the equipment on hand. The house is just a few miles from Disney and we were even provided with a shortcut to the front gate. LEGO land was only 35 minutes away and was loved by all. Walmart is really close and all other major chains are nearby as are a variety of restaurants if you want to eat out. We stayed 12 days and we still didn’t do everything we wanted to do. I highly recommend Villa by the Castle; it is a great value and is the best equipped rental home I have ever stayed in. It provided a wonderful home base for our families and we hope to return again. ChrisB and family
