Playa del Carmen vacation rentals

The apartment was clean, beautiful and exactly as pictured. We especially loved the large balcony, which offered a view of the pool, but was also very private. We enjoyed the restaurants across the street and felt very safe. We were travelling with two young kids and the two bedroom set-up worked well for us. I will say the second bedroom doesn’t have a ton of privacy (slatted door with no noise barrier), so while it was perfect for our toddler, I could see that it might be challenging for adults. Many reviews say the apartment is close to the beach and 5th avenue. At the time that we were there the “shuttle” to those places was out of service, so it was a ~25 min walk minimum. This wasn’t ideal to do everyday with two toddlers so I wish we would have known that in advance. Also, the “pool bar/restaurant” was never open during our stay - I did ask the host about it but didn’t end up getting an answer. Again, just some inconveniences that you would hope to avoid traveling with kids.

Stayed in this place for a full week and loved every moment of it. The AWA building has wonderful amenities including a pool that was never crowded and a workout facility that had all the needed equipment. We didn't interact much with the front desk staff but they were friendly whenever we did. The unit itself is very nice and I'd highly recommend it. We appreciated the rooftop deck with the private pool and spent so much of our time up there. It was well stocked with all necessary appliances (especially a good blender!) and we easily cooked a few meals. It is located at the front of the building, which means a quick walk out to everyone the area has to offer. I will note both the beach and the downtown entrance are about a mile away, so be prepared to walk or take a taxi. We walked everywhere and had no issues with safety given the Playacar entrances are gated and access is controlled to residents/guests. This unit is definitely on our "must return to" list for future trips.

This has been our best experience with airbnb in 9 years using the platform. The place has en exquisite style, spotless, comfortable beds, A/C working perfectly, view to the beach, building staff extremely nice, excellent wifi signal, pool temp was perfect. The pictures matched beautifully, very spacious place, nice kitchen, living room with very comfy couch, nice dinning table size. The rooms had great space, the shower had great pressure. I loved the make up wash clothes. We were 5 people, parents and 3 young adult kids and we all fell in love witht he place. Walkable to everything you need. You do not even need a car to enjoy your stay, but the place does have a parking. And the host... Brian was absolutely the best of the best! We even decided to stay an extra night and miss one night on the next stop, because we were extremely comfortable at Brian's place. Brian was very responsive before and during our stay. We have no words to say THANK YOU for all your attentions Brian!

This is a very special home. We loved that it actually felt and functioned like a home, unlike so many other places we have seen that had a very sterile feel and were not well-equipped. There were 5 adults in our group and even when it rained there was room for everyone to feel comfortable. The indoor and outdoor living space was fabulous and with the patio doors open, it all flowed together. We have friends in the neighbourhood and it was great fun entertaining like we would at home. The home & kitchen were very well-equipped; except for a microwave & dishwasher, we had everything we have at home. There is an outdoor washroom & shower to wash off the sand before going into the house. The pool has a kiddie end and the deep part is about 4.5 feet, which made it the perfect spot to cool down on those really hot afternoons. There were lots of loungers for reclining or hanging out around the pool. The bedrooms all have a fan & their own air conditioning, as well as windows or patio doors if you prefer the fresh air. The beds & pillows were very comfortable. There was lots of towels, storage space & 3 safes in the house - I think Elizabeth thought of everything! It is very close to the north end of 5th Avenue; the women felt comfortable being out in the evenings, even alone. The beach is about a 10 minute walk. Finally, I can't say enough about how attentive & helpful Elizabeth and her crew were. They were very quick to repsond and she even came over the first night to show us how to use the television. She made excellent recommendations for places to eat & shop. Elizabeth built this house as her own home, you can see the love & care she puts into providing a wonderful experience to anyone who stays there. I highly recommend it.

Another 5 star experience all around. Check-in was a breeze, communication was probably in the top three of the best I've had on AirBnB. The place has security and is literally 50 steps to 5th Avenue. It's quiet at night and the bed is very comfortable. The shower could have better water pressure but that has nothing to do with her control. The swimming pool is very nice too although we didn't really use it except to take a picture.lol I would definitely stay here again. I travel for a month at a time so having a full service laundry person right outside her building was a huuuuge plus. Enjoy your stay!

This is a great modern spot. Icela was super friendly and communicative through whatsapp, she dropped me off an extra pillow when I requested one and gave us a ton of suggestions on getting around to cenotes and other beaches. The bed is large and the smart TV is very nice as well. There are extra towels for the pool and they even left us several liters of purified water. The highlight of our stay was the rooftop pool, it is so incredible, it changes colors at night and is the perfect temperature! The shower was lovely, I would suggest bringing your own soap and shampoo. Someone seemed to always be on duty at the front door which was helpful if you forget the code to get in or if you have questions. The place to do laundry across the street is very easy. We really appreciated the high tech full fridge and new appliances, it is a very functional kitchen for cooking with nice glassware! There is great food around as well as an ADO bus station for day trips. Would definitely come back and stay again. It was hard to leave!

We loved our stay at Eric’s place. It’s outside of the loud party of centro Playa. But there is still walking distant restaurants and bars. Particularly loved Ceviche Corazon. We were able to do our laundry around the corner and little shops for groceries are aplenty. Also on Sundays, there is a huugggeeee market that takes over all of Calle 56. You must walk through it if you’re there in a Sunday. The space was clean and had everything we needed. We really enjoyed spending time on the roof and in the pool and meeting other travelers . Beach 72 is not that far and is super lovely. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a bit more of a local Playa Del Carmen outside of the club atmosphere.

Tuvimos una excelente comunicación con Bethany. Lamentablemente no pudimos hospedarnos ya que la ciudad completa se quedó sin energía eléctrica y tuvimos que buscar otra alternativa. Sin embargo, ella siempre estuvo atenta en apoyarnos. A pesar de que originalmente no teníamos opción de reembolso, junto con el equipo de atención a clientes de Airbnb nos facilitó todas las gestiones necesarias para lograrlo.
