Using a Keyless Entry Code
We use a keyless lock for access to Tiki House Pensacola Beach. Many vacation homes use these kind of locks, but the procedures may differ, even with the same brand, depending on the model. Our lock is as simple as you can get. When the home is ready for you, we text or call with your personal entry code. Enter the code and the deadbolt will unlock. To lock, simply press the lock button.
Most common mistakes:
Entering the code and then pressing the lock button. This just unlocks and locks the door. We have had renters do this so many times they ran the battery down and required someone to come out and let them in and change the batteries.
Waiting for the door to open on its own. The lock is a "smart" lock. But it isn't a valet. You still need to open the door using the door handle.
Entering the wrong code. If you enter the wrong code too many times, the lock safety feature will lock anyone out. You will have to wait 30 minutes to try again, or we can send someone with a key. If your code doesn't work after 2 attempts, call us. We will assist you BEFORE you get locked out.
