I received notice my transient lodging tax will increase in a few months

You can update your Houfy listing to reflect these changes.

Última atualização 23 de agosto de 2026

Note: only new reservations pick up a tax change. Reservations already booked keep the tax that was worked out when the guest paid, so for those you either collect the difference from the guest directly or absorb it yourself.

To schedule the increase, use the tax item's own start and end dates - Houfy applies a tax item only to nights that fall inside its date range.

  1. Open houfy.com/edit-listing/<your listing id>/pricing (in the listing editor sidebar: Pricing > Rates & Fees).

  2. Click Tax to open the section - it is closed when the page loads.

  3. Click your current tax item and set its End date to the last day the old rate applies.

  4. Click Add tax item and create a second item for the new rate: the same Tax name, the new Tax value, and a Start date of the first day the new rate applies. Leave its End date blank.

Both items can sit in the list at the same time. A quote only uses the item whose dates cover the stay, so nothing is charged twice.

Tax items are set per listing, so repeat this on every listing the change affects.
