Per night taxes on Houfy

Per-night taxes are set on the tax item itself, and only for a fixed amount. A percentage tax is always charged on the stay total, never per night.

1. Open houfy.com/edit-listing/<your listing id>/pricing (in the listing editor sidebar: Pricing > Rates & Fees).

2. Click Tax to open the section - it is closed when the page loads.

3. Click an existing tax item to edit it, or click Add tax item.

4. Enter the Tax name and the Tax value, then set the dropdown beside the value to Fixed. (The other option is %.)

5. A checkbox now appears under the value: Charge per night (instead of once per stay). Tick it.

6. Click Add - or Update, if you were editing - to save.

The checkbox only appears once the type is set to Fixed. With the dropdown on % there is no per-night option, because a percentage is applied to the stay total.

If your local tax is charged per guest per night, that cannot be set from this form. Contact Houfy support and we will set it up for you.
