What you get
Connecting Hostfully to Houfy brings your properties across as Houfy listings that you own and control. Descriptions, photos and amenities come with them, and rates and availability stay in step from then on.
Houfy charges hosts nothing to list. Guests pay a 5% API connection fee on bookings made through a connected property management system. See Houfy pricing for the full breakdown.
Before you start
A Houfy account. If you do not have one, you will be prompted to create it during the connection.
A Hostfully login with owner or admin access to the properties you want to share. A restricted login will connect, but it returns no properties, so the import arrives empty.
How to connect
The connection has two parts, and both are required before any listing appears. The first authorises Houfy to reach your Hostfully account. The second chooses which properties that authorisation covers.
Part one — authorise Houfy
Sign in to Houfy, then go to houfy.com/p/hostfully.
Choose whether to import new listings automatically, then select Sign up with Hostfully.
Sign in to Hostfully as an owner or admin user and approve the access request.
Stay on the page for about thirty seconds while we fetch your properties. Do not close or refresh it — it moves on by itself.
Once approved, the Houfy channel switches on inside Hostfully automatically. You do not need to turn it on there yourself.
Part two — switch your properties on in Hostfully
Authorising Houfy does not, by itself, share any property. Hostfully asks you to choose which ones we may access.
In Hostfully, open Channels › Houfy.
Switch on each property you want on Houfy, or use Toggle all.
Return to your Hostfully connection in Houfy and select Pull New Listings if they have not already appeared.
Until at least one property is switched on here, Hostfully returns an empty list and nothing will import — even though the connection looks healthy on both sides. This is the most common reason listings do not show up. Use that same Pull New Listings button whenever you add a property in Hostfully later — new properties are never pulled in on their own.
What comes across
Property name, description and address
Photos, amenities and house rules
Bedroom and bathroom configuration, and guest capacity
Rates, fees and taxes
Availability, minimum stays and booking windows
Your Houfy listing keeps its own URL, and you can edit anything that is not being synced from Manage Listings.
How the ongoing sync works
After the first import, Hostfully notifies Houfy whenever something changes, so edits, new bookings and blocked dates flow through within minutes. Availability updates in both directions, which keeps a Houfy booking from double-booking a date already taken elsewhere.
Adding a property in Hostfully later does not import it on its own. Switch it on for Houfy in Hostfully first, then pull your listings.
If your listings do not appear
Check your properties are switched on in Hostfully
This is the first thing to check and by far the most common cause. Open Channels › Houfy in Hostfully and confirm the properties you expect are toggled on.
Check which account authorised the connection
A Hostfully user without owner or admin rights may authorise successfully and still have no properties to share. Reconnect from houfy.com/p/hostfully using an owner or admin login.
Give it a few minutes
The first import runs in the background. A handful of properties appear almost immediately; a large portfolio can take longer. Check Manage Listings to see what has arrived.
If nothing has arrived after that, waiting longer will not help. Our scheduled sync only refreshes listings that have already come in at least once, so if the first run returned nothing there is nothing for it to refresh. Use Pull New Listings below, or reconnect with an owner or admin login.
Still nothing?
Contact Houfy support and tell us what you see on screen. Do not disconnect or tear down the connection on either side — that removes the details we use to trace the problem and makes it slower to fix.
Pulling listings manually
Go to Software partners in your Houfy account, open the Hostfully connection, and select Pull New Listings. Use this after switching on new properties in Hostfully, or if something has not arrived on its own.
Frequently asked questions
Does it cost anything to list on Houfy?
No. Listing is free. Because you are connecting through a property management system, the plan that applies is Using a PMS: no monthly fee, unlimited listings, and the guest pays a 5% API connection fee.
Can I choose which properties go to Houfy?
Yes, in two places. Switch properties on for Houfy inside Hostfully, then choose which of those to import on the Houfy side. Either can be changed at any time.
Will Houfy change anything in Hostfully?
Houfy writes bookings and blocked dates back so your calendar stays accurate. It does not alter your property content.
What happens to bookings I already have?
Existing reservations come across as blocked dates so those nights cannot be booked again on Houfy.
Can I disconnect later?
Yes. Disconnect from Software partners in Houfy, or switch the channel off in Hostfully. Your Houfy listings stay, and simply stop syncing.
I disconnected and want to reconnect. What do I do?
Start again at houfy.com/p/hostfully. Reconnecting restores the existing connection rather than creating a duplicate, so your listings are not imported twice.
Does the connection expire?
No, and there is nothing to renew on your side. Houfy refreshes the Hostfully access automatically, so a connection that is working stays working until you disconnect it.
